Granted that the Chargers are a pass-first team and played from behind much of the game, it's still a noteworthy stat:

The Pats allowed Chargers runners only 2.2 yard per carry (1.7 if you include quarterback scrambles).

That's two outstanding run-stopping performances in two games since the Wilfork-Warren-Deaderick line debuted.

Who knew how much of a difference swinging Wilfork out to his natural position would make? Chargers tried to counter by the run up the middle but ran into the teeth of the LB corp.

Great job, but bigger test next week. Plus, I fear for Brady.

I like Wilfork at end and Deaderick played well. Just wondering if Warren is a decent nose option. Would love if Brace could fill that spot since he was originally drafted to play there. But hard to argue with the results.

played from behind much of the game,

I wonder if that increases or decreases YPC.

Decreasing factor: A higher fraction of your runs are on short-yardage downs.

Increasing factor: You at least have the potential for draw plays and the like.

I vote decrease in this case, as you were suggesting.

Deaderick is getting better game by game at DE. I'm really liking what he's brought to the table so far this season.
