I can't find a link on the female couple but it happened today. good for them and incredible that these people no different than you or I have had to fight so hard for this.

Equality for all people...across the board from race to gender to religion to marriage....these are not things that people should have to go to court for in America....and yet here we are in 2006 and people still have to fight for equality.

Kudos for Rhode Island though it would have been nice to get this allowed in our state. I hope the legislator does the right thing and pushes it through. Though a moderate/conservative my biggest issue in politics are EQUALITY and POVERTY. Solving these issues would go a long way to solving many other problems. Social acceptance of different people living the same lives (too bad we need laws for that) will lead to the breakup of many of the good old boy networks that are a threat to this country's future.

In ten years from now this will be a non-issue as it should be, right now all it will do is generate a lot of polarization on something has been happening de facto for a very long time.

The fact these people have to fight for what should be an innate right bothers the crap out of me. I was watching the Ray Charles movie yesterday for like the 10th time. Every time they get to the racial segregation of the theatres and Ray being banned in Georgia my blood boils.

It's why i first started posing here...I'm very issues driven.

Try building a house with only female or male plumbing, do you think it will work?

What the heck are you babbling about pfiel? Female vs male plumbing?

Does it have something to do with the toilet seat? Oh wait Urinals!!

Urinals are clearly 'male' but:confused: most houses don't have them.

Nothing like pissing on the sanctity of marriage. I for one oppose gay marriage. I'd support civil unions though. I just think that marriage should be between a man and a woman. I respect an individuals sexuality. I have no issues if someone is gay. My problem is when people try to shove it down my throat as normal. It's not. If the world were gay, then would there be a world? Me thinks not.
