Smart? yes... Ambitious? Serious about his vision? Questionable...

To me, if the man were truly serious about leading this country when the opportunity was ripe for him, he would have broken free from the Repression Party and run as an independent when he knew he was too radical to win the Pub nomination. ... If there was ever a calling for a third party candidate, this past election season was it. Instead, he quit.

I like a lot of what Ron Paul says he stands for... He would have had my vote, but he bailed out.

Too bad Ron Paul put out a racist newsletter under his own name and then denied having anything to do with it. I know that's not important to conservatives, but it's important to most other people. If he had run as an independent that newsletter would surely have sunk him.

I know. If he really were as smart as some in here think he is, he'd have bypassed the letters altogether, and gone straight to a racist hate church for 20 years instead. Had he, he'd have been president 25 years ago. Nah, on second thought, that would never happen. Certainly not in this country.

The Republicrat Party will do anything to keep a third party from developing. We live in a one-party system. What do you need for evidence beyond the recent bailouts by the Bush/Obama administration?

i don't believe that at all... i feel this was a case of an editor running rampant...

i saw Paul answer that line of questioning, and i have a strong BS detector.... he was earnest and forthright and adamant that he had nothing to do with the contents of that newsletter.

there is no place in Libertarianism for racism... it runs perpendicular to the very foundation of libertarianism... this was a another talking point made to force Paul into irrelevancy...

Didn't your mom ever teach you that two wrongs don't make a right?
