    Chernobyl disaster x 4

Don't look over there! There is a war on frickin Christmas here in America!

When we finally see a China Syndrome in Japan, this will get press. Sadly, it will be way too late. The latest updates that I read stated that the containment layers have been breached, its only a matter of time before the material blasts the water table. Get ready.....

    dude can crush cities...

These figures don't pass the smell test for me. obviously would need to read much more about the methodology, but I'd want to see far more about how they determined "excess," how much of those they attributed to fall out and how they arrived at those causation levels.

I'm with you on this. Not enough hard data for me.

I'm not in to knee jerk reactions as it has only been 9 months since the meltdown.

I'm 100% sure that deaths are going to be attributed to the meltdown, but how does this study come up with 14,000 - 18,000 deaths in 9 months?

I didn't read the entire pdf but it seems the researchers are only comparing a couple of months in 2010 to a couple of months in 2011 and focusing on infant deaths (SIDS).

How many infants died of SIDS in 2009 or 2008 or 2007, etc?

Give me a few years of data and I will be convinced. Small sample sizes are usually wrong.

BTW: I'm one of the most liberal posters on the board but I'm not ready to go all in on a 9 month study.

This photograph was recently taken off the coast of Japan. If this isn't enough evidence for you, I don't know what else to say?

    agreed.

The study says: 14,000 U.S. Deaths Tied to Fukushima Reactor Disaster

It states on page 13 that over 13,000 of those deaths are from Godzilla himself. 3,000 from laser/fire shot from his eyes or mouth, and the other 10k from 'stomping'

LOL... a million times this ^

They're the same way about any other catastrophic environmental concern that is a clear threat to GOP-friendly industries: "Please stand back! Nothing to see here!"

But when it comes to vague allusion to potential terror threats from Muslim-sounding people that could maybe possibly happen if we don't look sharp and remain vigilant every second of every day ... well, then if you're not as concerned as they are, you're somehow Neville Chamberlain.

Conservatives, ... reminding you what you need to be afraid of for decades.
