List 10 first day players that if the Patriots drafted 2 or 3 of them, would make you happy. This is not a list of player that you think the Patriots will draft, that comes later in the Patchick annual contest. You don't have to place them in order either.

Clay Matthews
Brian Cushing
Connor Barwin
Sean Smith
Paul Kruger
Alex Mack
Jarius Bryd
Chip Vaughn
Larry English
Max Unger

Vaughn may be a 2nd day player, it will be close. But if the Patriots got 2 or 3 of those guys, I'd be happy.

Make your list realistic. If there are players that are ranked in the top 10-15, then the Patriots won't have a chance unless they trade up.

No Peticular Order:
Rey Maualuga
Eben Britton
Clay Matthews
Aaron Maybin
Darius Butler
Vontae Davis
William Beatty
Louis Delmas
William Moore
Brian Orakpo-Not Sure what we would have to give up to get him but if he fell to #9 or so I would want us to move up.

I presume you want only realistic possibilities, so I'll exclude BJ Raji, Aaron Curry, Jason Smith and Eugene Monroe.

OL (3): William Beatty OT, Alex Mack OG/G, Eric Wood OG/C
WR (1): Hakeem Nicks
DL (1): Jarron Gilbert, DE
DE/LB(2): Connor Barwin, Robert Ayers
DB(2): Louis Delmas, Sean Smith

That makes 9. #10 is up in the air for me between OL (Eben Britton), WR (Percy Harvin), DE/OLB (Larry English), ILB (Rey Maualuga), S (William Moore, Patrick Chung) and CB (Darius Butler, Alphonso Smith).

LB Rey Maulauga, Say what you will. His motor is non stop and he is a football player.

LB/DE/TE Connor Barwin, One of the rarest ahtlete-projects to come out in a long time could be special. YouTube - DE Connor Barwin Highlights Cincinnati 2008

DE/LB Everett Brown, One of the very best pure pass rusher in draft
YouTube - FSU DE Everette Brown Highlights

S Louis Delmas, The words fluid and loose always comes to mind with kid

S PatrickChung, Big tank of a bruiser.Hardest hitting safety in this draft

S Will Moore, climbing back up my draft board after a much better combine

S Sean Smith, I don't think he is a every down CB, but has got good size and has played cb
He projects to be a good safety imo

OL/C Alex Mack Best Center in the draft, hands down.

OL William Beatty Best feet in the draft

CB Darius Butler one of the best athletes in the draft. He jumps pretty high too lol
YouTube - Darius BUtler dunking

Clay Matthews - could start right away, and even add some depth at ILB next year
Connor Barwin - could start right away
Sean Smith - valuable depth at DB
Darrius Heyward-Bey - I'm probably overrating this guy, but I can see him as the #3 next year
Evander Hood - Can take over for Seymour and is at least an upgrade backup
Jarron Gilbert - Can take over for Green next year.
William Beatty - Upgrade over Kaczur
Eben Britton - Upgrade over Kaczur
Max Unger - plays all OL positions which is good since we're losing 3 starters next year
Antoine Caldwell - plays all OL positions which is good since we're losing 3 starters next year

Another Laurinitis fan. Funny about him falling down the draft boards. A lot of mock drafts had him 8th last season. I've been turned off by all the haters but as of late I'm trying to get back into that he is football player first mentality. Same with Maualuga who I think has a higher motor but just knows football all the same.
