1) I was under the impression, coming from someone who watches all the games and usually one run on Tivo but not extensive tape or anything, that Hawkins is just awful. It was nicely documented by NFL network during the "state of the patriots" or whatever. However, I did like Harrison's replacement in Sanders. Is it safe to say that Hawkins has to go but Sanders has some good upside?
2) Also, I don't think that BB can count on Gay - if he stays healthy, it would be nice to but to plan around having him as a backup is unrealistic.
1) Hawkins was an acceptable replacement for Eugene Wilson, until he deteriorated before our very eyes during the playoffs. His, and Wilson's, replacement has not yet been acquired via free agency, therefore he must be aquired via the draft, preferably on Saturday.
2) Gay's unreliability, and Samuel's uncertainly beyond 2007, makes it imperative that a CB of the future be acquired, via free agency, the draft, or both.
