It means you have to bet $143 on the Pats to win $100 that they win the Super Bowl. It means they are better than even money, better than 50% according to the public to win the Super Bowl.

Indy, you have to bet $100 to win $488, so they are almost 5-1, Dallas is about 7-1, everyone else longer than 12-1 to win the Super Bowl.

The Pats are according to this prohibitive favorites.
