IMO it is quite possible there is a receiver that they might covet and could be part the reason for all of these backloaded contracts.
BB and pioli probably dont really intend for stallworth or washington to see most of their money so they could end up just with 1 year stays. its the best...
he is reportedly good friends with doug gabriel and was upset when the raiders traded him away. is it a coincidence that gabriel was the one wr who could not be coached and ended up being cut?:bricks:
i think they might have done this to save money also
now they dont have to worry about miami matching w/o using the poision pill so they can now give him a realistic non backloaded contract. maybe around 3 mill a year? :rocker:
or could they have done it because they have an abundance of draft picks, and it will hopefully keep them from getting "poision pilled" out of spite? :bricks:
i know kiper had us picking anthony gonzalez in the 1st w/ #28 before welker does anyone know who that greaseball has us picking now (just for humor):bricks:
im sure that lewis would have wanted to sign thomas if:
a. he had a criminal record
b. he enjoyed drunk driving
c. he beat his wife
d. he puked out a window while a drunk teammate drove
e. he had the recipe for "purple drank"
f. all of the above plus more
this would be a reliable source...
i agree that gaffney is as close to a "sure thing" as it gets he sure showed it in the playoffs
i think more of the question is relying on caldwell again, but hopefully welker will step in and be a "go to" guy so it takes pressure off of all of them and makes everyones life a little...
the replacement for dillon is maroney is it not? 2 rb systems are the new thing in the nfl but that is usually with 2 mediocre rbs. I think maroney will end up being more than adequate on goalline. i dont think shanahan wanted to draft him to put him in a tandem, he wanted him to become his...
i think it is safe to say that fumbles are not a concern with WW, it is also worth noting that he had 9 receptions over 20 yds last year. with brady throwing him the ball id expect all of his numbers to rise especially the tds
id think they might want to add another 1 or 2.
caldwell has a history of injury and while he and jabar came on at the end of last season/ chad jackson is still somewhat of an unknown at this point. i do not feel that all 3 of them are sure bets to be big contributors. but i think if all 3...
I think he will be playing the role that Troy Brown did in the beginning of the dynasty, overachieving reliable wr, and reliable pr/kr. I think that is worth more than a low 2nd round pick:rocker:
