Re: The Ravens - we are the Ravens....
It seems more like the Patriots and the season Bledsoe went down and we all wondered how Brady would do filling in. Maybe Cassell will suprise us and turn out to be a QB that doesn't make too many mistakes and knows how to manage the offense.
OK, so, after a dream season like this, I have to host a Super Bowl party to celebrate the Pats season. Your advice is requested:
1. How many guests are too many? I want to watch and enjoy the GAME without feeling like I have to entertain - but I want to share and enjoy this special...
Other than the Moss to Brady game changer vs Pittsburg, I haven't seen many trick plays, reverses or screens up the middle. Don't you think we'll see a little more razzle dazzle in the playoffs from the Pats to keep the other teams honest? Mix it up a bit more.
It would be relevant from a statistical standpoint because it has never been done before. Like Brady and Randy Moss shooting for new TD passing and receiving records or the offense setting a new league scoring record. It isn't as important as the Super Bowl victory, but it ISN'T meaningless...
Don't get me wrong - I want the Pats to win the SB, but don't you think 15 years from now most people would still be talking about a perfect 16-0 season more than they would remember who won a Super Bowl 15 years ago? A perfect 16-0 regular season is much more rare than winning a Super Bowl...
The loss of Daniel Graham at TE and Cory Dillon at RB make those positions weaker until or unless someone steps up to fill their shoes. I'm more concerned about the RB position than I am about the TE position.
Our O line is not as solid as our D line. We could not run the ball effectively when we needed it most in the playoffs and in a number of the 2nd half regular season games. It wouldn't surprise me to see one our top 3 picks go to the O line.
I would not be suprised if they added an o-lineman or wr obviously./QUOTE] On the WR front - don't be surprised if David Patten becomes available. He's been a bust for the Redskins - routinely injured.
Perhaps a little more no-huddle offense would help the passing offense. Brady's concentration and execution seems to excel in hurry-up and no-huddle situations.
