No defending NFCE champ has repeated the following year since '05. It's been the same story every year for these teams (rash of FA departures, rash of injuries, suspensions, locker room troubles, etc). Dallas isn't going anywhere next year.
Honestly, no matter how much they change them, no one will be satisfied.
With that being said, I never liked the original version of sudden death (the first any score wins). But the new version I've satisfied with. If any team can't stop opposing teams on scoring TDs, then it's on them.
Yeah, even the local guys in New Orleans where I lived said over and over, "It's going to be a Super Blowout for the Rams!". It was as if they were reading off of a script.
NO! Reviewing penalties will only slow down the game, tremendously. Remember once upon a time ago, they would review EVERY SINGLE QUESTIONABLE PLAY? (before they got rid of instant replay review, and then brought it back in the form of challenges) All it did was bring more frustrations.
What...
Before the re-alignment in '02 (when the Houston Texans entered) - the Rams, Saints, Falcons, Niners, and Panthers were in the old NFCW. So I ended up watching a lot of the Rams games when Vermeil/Martz were the HCs.
Will admit, they were a lot of fun to watch from '99 - '01. It was as if they...
FWIW, I lived in New Orleans when Super Bowl 36 was played there. I didn't have cable tv then (so I only got info from the national "pundits" off the internet, which wasn't too much). However, ALL of the local media guys said the same thing - "It's going to be a Super Blowout for the Rams!". It...
I think the big picture has been missed - the issue on hand is PLAYER SAFETY, which the league has thoroughly emphasized in recent years. Even if the score had been 28-0, the flag gets thrown 10/10 times.
Who cares about the outcome, really, when player safety is at risk here?
1) How has the atmosphere in Boston been like, with all of these championships from many different teams?
2) What is your opinion of Celtics coach Brad Stevens? How would you compare him to BB?
3) What is your opinion of Red Sox manager Alex Cora? How would you compare him to BB?
4) What did...
This is coming from a Saints fan.
If you remember back in week 16, there was a phantom PI call on the Steelers in the end zone, which resulted in a Saints TD. Throughout the week, we were hounded how we were "gifted", and the Steelers were "robbed". No matter how much we tried to spin how there...
I remember the 2001 Pats team - weren't they 5-5 after going 5-2? (around the time Bledsoe was told he lost his starting job) Anyhow, if memory serves, they were 5-5, coming off a close loss to the Rams at home. And subsequently they played the Saints, which started their season ending 6 game...
I remember John Elway's last game at Mile High (1998 AFCCG) - he didn't announce his retirement at the time, but he went around doing the victory lap at the stadium after the game.
Brady isn't going anywhere for awhile.
I remember the Jordan years in the 90's - will admit, I enjoyed watching the Bulls win almost every year. Jordan probably had the best ensemble cast around him.
Yes, that was me - my very first post was way back in 2006 when Drew Bledsoe was still the Cowboys starting QB. He came off a very bad game, and I came by asking what was all the negativity about him. It was a couple of games later when Tony Romo got the start. (How time flies! Who would have...
It's been a long time since I've posted here (over 5 years, some of you may remember me). I follow the Cowboys, and I also follow the Saints (b/c I lived in New Orleans pre-Katrina for awhile).
Anyhow - I've always liked the Patriots (no, never bought into that "Spygate", "Deflategate", or...
How has the Pats D improved so much? Is it the coordinator? To be frank, wasn't impressed with the previous guy(Dean Pees).
Anyhow - have watched a lot of their games since the turn of the century b/c quite frankly, being one of the best teams in the league means more prime time games. But...
