Simmons took many training camp snaps at C when he was with the Steelers so yes he can play the position. But I don't recall him ever doing it in a game.
honestly, i wouldn't really care and wouldn't devote an entire thread to it. sure, belichick would probably get the double standard treatment because he is characterized as an ultra-competitive, win-at-all-costs guy. But I don't think his internal motivation would be any different from Tomlin's...
Bruce Davis has the physical tools but for some reason he is Gholston-like on the field. Doesn't play special teams well, has poor instincts, got tooled several times in the preseason by 2nd and 3rd teamers. He is not better than any of the backup OLBs you have, I think.
Wow, I didn't think you were this much of a simpleton, so let me explain. Read twice if you need to.
The cuts are already public. See, the media in Pittsburgh tends to follow the Steelers quite closely, especially as players leave the facility. So all the names of the cuts have been posted in...
actually they're doing the cut players a favor, genius. their agents can start making calls before the deadline. hilarious that a pats fan would criticize another organization for how they treat their players.
What Sabol actually claimed was that it was the greatest *game-winning TD catch* in NFL history. A little soon to rank these things - let's see if it acquires the same timeless quality of the Immaculate Reception, or The Catch by Dwight Clark.
You're right the throw by Ben was as good if not...
The past three years the Steelers have been close to 50-50 run pass, which is much different than Ben's first two years at QB. So ignoring his 2007 stats where he threw for 32 TDs, 11 INTs with a 65.3% completion rate and 104.1 rating, just because he made 60 fewer attempts that year, is...
No but objective football analysis is obviously a problem for you. Your gerrymandering of statistics to prove a weak-ass point about a QB you obviously dislike, when the majority of Pats fans in this thread can give Ben credit for what he's done, is plain laughable.
The Jets are missing from the OP's list (Super Bowl III), but they are the sixth team to have not appeared in a super bowl since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. Kind of a trick question.
Well, that picture doesn't tell you anything - you should re-watch the video and freeze-frame it.
Holmes stretched to catch the ball with his body at about a 60 degree angle to the ground. This picture is several frames after the catch was made, as evidenced by the fact the ball is already...
Not sure you guys really want Foote - athletically he is very average, not fleet of foot (pun intended), and certainly the weaker of the 4 Steeler LBs (5 if you count Timmons as a nickel LB) against both run and pass. But he is very disciplined and rarely out of place, so that might be a good...
I wasn't predicting a Steelers victory, but I thought the game would be closer than it was. That was a resounding statement game by the Pats, multiple exclamation points included.
The 1st half gave me some hope, both teams played fairly evenly. But the Pats 2nd half playcalling, Brady...
And for those here who still insist Ben is a lazy dimwit who benefits from a great surrounding cast and has reached his QB cieling, you can read this:

Labelling Pats-hate as jealousy (envy is the correct word by the way) is plain delusional. Most everyone outside NE, including the media, wants the Pats to lose and it's not simply because they are winning.
The 70s Steelers & Cowboys, the 80s Niners, the 90s Bulls were also perennial winners...
Yes, all that wife-banging, handshake-spurning, revenge-seeking, camera-planting, disingenuous, arrogant-as-f@%& behavior endears him to the NFL fraternity and makes him one of the great humanitarians of our time.
