Don't be surprised if we part ways. We aren't gonna pay him what he is capable of getting in the current marketplace and with every big dollar signing that goes by the boards he is watching his pay day slip away. Somethings gotta give, and it probably won't be the Patriots. Gonzales and...
Re: I Dont Get It
Exactly. Well put. Considering Randy's situation, I believe he played it perfectly. He is a man of shrinking options, and is under no duty to sacrifice them for the likes of the Patriots. Likewise, for the Patriots in this situation.
Lets see, listen to you and your magical insider knowledge, or Troy Brown:
While the majority of callers to WEEI on Wednesday morning were upset about the Patriots trading Randy Moss to Minnesota, former New England great Troy Brown went on the Dale and Holley show and offered a different...
To be able to make the statement you just made, you must be related to BB. Or work for the Pats. My logic could very well be a reason this move was made. If you didn't notice, BRADY STARTED PLAYING LIKE THE BRADY OF OLD IN THE LAST 2 GAMES. As discussed in my thread. Worst case, my logic...
There needs to be an Act II to this story...packaging this pick plus another for V-Jackson is the most likely scenario. If the story ends here, I would be shocked. V-Jack is 6'5", 230 lbs with great hands. I think the longevity he can bring (he is 27, and coupled with Brady could be a potent...
Point 1: My feeling is Brady not ideally suited to be a long ball QB to take advantage of Moss. Even Troy Brown on EEI this afternoon mentioned the same thing. He lacks accuracy on the long ball.
Point 2: Moss is fading. See this from his prime. Compare to what you are seeing NOW...
Bro, your talking about Moss in his prime, and Culpepper couldn't hold Brady's jock. If Moss was in his prime, he'd have hauled in more than 2 of the 9 passes Sunday against the Jets. The dude is getting old.
I agree with you. It takes a team. But Brady is a HOF QB that was very special. We were witness to a run in the 2000's that we most likely won't see again. He hasn't played at the same high level since the knee/last SB appearance. Why? I think 1 of 3 things are possible:
1/ Moss makes...
None of the SBs were won because of the passing game? :bricks:
TB was the lone differentiating factor in the Pats becoming or not becoming SB champs...and the last time I checked, TB's job was to PASS the ball.
Your comment about the RB shows you miss the point. Throwing to the RB is usually a check down pass, for a reason. Figure out why and understand the point.
The ability to morph our offense attack to keep the D off balance was the key in our successful years. Once an offensive formula is...
Perhaps it was the fact that when he threw them, the timing was more opportune...like the WR actually had separation or wasn't double covered. He seems to have an unhealthy faith in Moss coming down with anything he throws his way...maybe in Moss's prime, it would be justified. But not now...
I'm sure you would all be pouting if we traded him to Minny and used the assets to pick up V-Jack. Frankly, I would love to see what Brady could do with Welker, Edelman, Tate, Crumpler, Gronk and Hernandez. Send 9 more passes to them instead of Moss in the Jets game.
Roughly 7.5 YPC. I really don't recall the go for broke bombs in 2004 and 2005. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if these numbers were high because of the effectiveness of our screen game, and YAC.
Welker actually compliments Brady's style. I feel Moss does not. I never suggested trading Welker, so how is that game, set match? Perhaps your knowledge of tennis is better.
I respectfully disagree. QBs are taught to throw to the open receiver. What I find bizarre is that Brady has been inconsistent at best at throwing a long ball [Randy Moss -- 9 targets/2 catches against NY] but he/coaches continue to force the issue. Best to build a team around a QBs...
