You know the Pats are signing lots of guys with ST ability but it's "coverage" ST ability. That's not bad but the Pats were one of the better ST coverage teams last year. They need (ed) some big play return ability. So signing these guys is not too exciting for me. Kind of like doing due...
Nah...apparently they played enough 3-4 for Pace to show some promise..."promise"!!
Bingo! How many big fattyies have succeeded when asked to 2-gap? The answer is almost none of them. Especially when he is not going to a better sutuation where he can benefit from being surounded by superior...
I think the "crazy" money being paid to average players will come back to haunt those teams. Woody to the Jets is a good example. He's done *nothing* since he left that Pats but the Rat is somehow going to magically coach him up to be a top right tackle? I don't think so...
Better to use...
Man... looking at that schedule...it's hard to see the Pats going worse that 12-4 at the very least. 12-4 with loses to SD and Indy knocks you out of a first round bye. But if they can get either of the games against these two teams; the Pats are right back in business!
Re: Dan Pires thinks Pats may sign Grady Jackson
I'm going to love to find out how all these signings help us in the area of needing to replace/upgrade the CB/LB positions?
Re: Pats sign Tank Williams
Tank Williams? What does he bring to the party that we don't already have? Unless the Pats are getting ready to let Rodney go?
The Jets had to pay up because they suck basically so they have to overcompensate for that as do most of the teams that have given players *crazy* contracts. Why else would they go there? The expectation that Faneca will make Ferguson a better player is a reasonable one so that eases their...
Ha Players of lesser talent are cleaning up but he isn't worth it? Really?
How many teams accomplished that? Where did the 18 wins come from?
Because only one team managed to do that *AND* beat the Patriots!!!
You are obviously very young, do not know much about Pro Football, and...
The Pats have NO* leverage. They need Moss more than he needs them. They passed on Samuel. They have the dough. They have the evidence about how much difference RM makes to them offense. I don't think it is a stretch to describe him as the potentially 2nd most important player on the team...
Moss *was* the Pats offense last year. Everything else developed to take advantage of the overcompensation the opposing D had to make to take away Moss. In my book that makes him worth about $1 less than Brady. And last time I checked Gaffney was not signed.
With no Moss "WE" may contend...
If Jenkins can stay healthy this is potentially a good move by the jets. Run defense was one of their big problems last year and having a 340 LB fatty in the middle should help that out. If he doesn't pan out it's still just a 3 and a 5. Good strategy.
Is this an urban legend? When was the last time you heard of a player in a BB defense specifying which side of the field he would or would not play on? LT maybe but Asante? Doubtful.
