Brady was asking for that cutting remark when he was quoted as saying that. Reminds me of how he whined about someone predicting the Patriots winning the 07 SB 20-17, and Brady went, "lol, I would think our offense will score more points than that!" Then they lost 17-14.
Must be a bunch of kids on here. Seau was the best linebacker of the 1990s, and it wasn't even close. He's a Top 5 all-time linebacker. Butkus, Lambert, Singletary, Seau, Lewis. First ballot HOFer.
Ty Law isn't a HOFer. Up and down career with a couple of big years. Course, Andre Reed...
Edelman is a much better player than Welker, period. He is better in every facet of the game except he doesn't have a "jerk" route in his arsonal, for some reason. When Edelman touches the ball, he scares you with his elusiveness. Edelman has actual athletic ability. He can stop and start on the...
This is so f'n stupid. Somebody punched somebody else off the field and it's getting O.J. Simpson type coverage. By the way, let me know when the NFL removes O.J. from the HOF. On his way to his double homicide, he beat Nicole plenty of times. Let me know when Warren Moon gets removed from the...
When did Welker develop a fake media persona? He's ALWAYS openly been a jerk. This is Wes "you f'n suck!" Welker we're talking about here. Wes "you just gotta put your toe in the water" Welker. I know someone who met Julian Edelman at a bar in the Bay Area and Edelman said (paraphrasing) that...
The main problem weapons-wise was with TE. Gronk only played a few games this year, and Murdernandez was not adequately replaced, either. That's where the loss was on offense. Welker was completely replaced by the Edelman/Amendola tandem, and Brandon Lloyd was pretty much replaced by the various...
Am I the only one who doesn't know what in the heck this is supposed to mean?
"He can jive up the ball and then speed out and have you off balance. Edelman doesn't do that."
Jive up the ball? What in the world is that supposed to mean? He can say foolish things UP the BALL? He can dance to...
Amendola playing the slot in place of Edelman during that period is what happened. Edelman was relegated to limited snaps and lining up outside.
Gronk was there against Denver and Houston when he took off again. The reason he took off again is they started featuring him in the slot again.
Edelman's right in line with what Welker was doing in 2007 and 2008, especially when you consider his numbers initially took a hit when Amendola came back from injury and he was mostly lined up on the outside against the Bengals and the Dolphins/Steelers/Panthers.
More first team reps and...
Well, in Jerry Rice's defense he was doing 1500 yards and 15 TDs per year, averaging 15+ yards per catch (18+ in the 1980s).
He's in a completely different world from the Welkers and Edelmans and other scrappy slot receivers. He was a game breaker.
Yeah, it's not like the US government has ever made a spectacle of overrated issues in sports before.
Not like they stuck their noses into Major League Baseball regarding steroids, even though maybe 1-5% of all players were actually juicing...and made everyone think that everyone...
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say the concussion stuff is sensationalized.
I doubt doubt that repeated can concussions can lead to problems later in life. But the media doesn't report on all the guys who had many concussions and are doing fine. Steve Young seems to be doing fine...
Fitzgerald and Johnson don't put up numbers like his. Fitzgerald and Johnson average 15, 16, 17 yards per catch, and are capable of scoring 12-15+ TDs per season.
Welker's a 10, 11 yards/catch guy who never hit double digits in TDs.
Welker's always been a glorified #3 receiver who was...
Based on what? He's caught every single catchable Brady deep ball he's been thrown this year.
Brady's deep ball is the problem. He's never been a great deep passer, and that's been exposed with Randy Moss no longer here to bail him out with his unparalleled ball adjustment ability.
