Haven't posted in a long time, as I'm a lurker at this point. I was a Tebow Boi from 2013, but became a quasi-fan of just the Patriots.
I just wanted to congratulate the Patriot fans and organization -- this was all crap from the start, and I'm in awe of how Brady never wavered, stayed calm...
I'm at work and cannot read the whole report or this whole thread -- but this is my question. All of the inquiries and complaints attributed to Brady (that I can see) seem to be in the context of the over-inflated Jets balls. That is, one can reasonably construe them as complaints, requests...
It's not that, it's just that GT would run less than 10 pass plays per game. And the option run offense completely neutralized the pass rush -- teams could not and did not scheme to rush the passer. They scheme to stop the run, and the pass operates as a surprise change up.
It's really weird...
Two things to notice -- (1) although GT's offense is run-oriented, it is a very precision-timed blocking scheme. Shaq developed and displayed the ability to block as needed at the right time; and (2) if you notice on almost every play in that video, he blocked the play in exactly the right way...
And I'll share this with you guys -- this Youtube video fired us GT fans up this season. It's not particularly about Shaq Mason, but it gives you some idea of the culture he comes out of, the prevailing attitude he was part of. I think BB saw it, sees something in the GT program that catches...
I have to echo the OP - - I , too am a GT grad and fan. Shaq Mason just RAKED people all year. Georgia Tech's vaunted option offense worked like a charm this year. Do you know why? That offense starts with the B-back dive. If the defense has to respect the dive, it creates the race to the...
Making it "easier" makes it more enticing, more likely to be chosen as an alternative. It changes the math (the probabilities) so that going for 2 is more likely to be rewarded.
It's the flip side of moving the kick back a ways -- creep it in closer and it's more likely that some team will...
Peter King reported one team had interest in trying him out at another position -- I said he couldn't make an NFL roster as a tight end. Do you disagree? How is "pride" to recognize that that is not a good move -- to me the arrogance would be thinking he could master a different position at...
Somebody always trots this one out, as a way of turning Tebow's shortcomings as a player into shortcomings in his character -- i.e. pride or something.
NEWSFLASH, GENIUS: He couldn't make an NFL roster at any other position. The notion that he's good enough to beat out NFL tight ends is a...
The Colts seem more interested in making Andrew Luck look like Andrew Lock than winning games. Putting weapons around him to avoid the flop sweat setting in that he might just a regular good quarterback, and not the next Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers.
A team focused on winning would be more about...
Al Michaels was on the Adam Carolla podcast this week, and talked about what an amazing play it was. He called Butler's play "the play of the century."
He pointed out that running it in from the 1 yard line is statistically tough.
And he also went out of his way to credit Brandon Browner for...
Another incredible feat is how many different styles Brady has deployed over his career -- he has adapted to several different kinds of postseason game plans. When he had Randy Moss, that was a noticeable feature of the attack. Other times, it was the variety of routes and Welker. Other...
It's to the point now where even making this comparison is a compliment to Manning. He doesn't belong in this kind of conversation.
If he were to pull an Elway and get a championship late in his career with the Broncos, there would be an interesting thing to discuss -- first QB to win a Super...
