Very interesting article at NFL.com and Boston Globe on Pats no-huddle
There is a very good article at nfl.com and the Boston Globe about the Patriots Lightning Speed no huddle offense and where it came from.
Check it out.
Patriots no-huddle relies on power of one - Sports - The Boston Globe
I am pointing out that those 89 plays ran is an awsome number of plays and by itself demonstrates control of the game. The score does not say as much as those number of plays. Highly inordinate, very, very highly inordinate.
That is the number of offensive plays the Pats ran yesterday. That is an awesome number, totally awesome.
Here are the number of plays that were run by all other NFL teams in all of this week's games.
76, 54, 63, 65, 61, 89, 55, 68, 54, 71, 56, 68, 81, 48, 62, 52, 73, 53, 46, 63, 65, 69...
I appreciate your well searched comments but, respectfully, disagree on what he does for the team. I will continue to say that he hurts the team far more than he helps it and with the addition of others, Dowlings return from injury, I expect Arrington to not be a part of this team next season.
Sorry, but I disagree on two players. Spikes, down one notch with great potential and will, probably, become a pro bowl player, perhaps even this season.
And on Chung, you are falling for the topical discussion in this forum. Chung is a decent player. He goes from hot to cold and back, to...
Arrington was never a good corner, especially a "cover" corner. He was in the same league as Ellis Hobbs, and that is probably why Arrington changed his number from 27 to 24, people thought Hobbs was back.
What helped Arrington look good in the eyes of many fans was a number... the number...
Not really. He makes good tackles and if he does get the ball, he runs well with it. However, if you take the time to look at his team leading seven interceptions last year, he was beaten badly and out of position on five of them and the ball either got deflected to him or was overthrown to...

I was having a nice day until I saw that. Arrington is the worst cover corner on this team. He was taken OFF the corner and moved inside where he can't do as much damage. Somehow though, he still manages to do damage.
Certainly you jest. Arrington is, perhaps, their "worst" cover corner and that is one reason he plays mostly inside now instead of on the outside corner where he was severely beaten for the long completions game after game after game. No wonder Belichick pulled him off of that position...
I had made a comment while watching the game that it seemed to me that the Pats were coming to the line from the no huddle at an amazing lightning speed. Much faster than I had ever noticed any other team use the no huddle that quickly. I have labeled it "The Lightning Speed" No huddle...
Re: Memo to Pats DB's... if ball is in air...
That may be true and hopefully the DB coaches can correct it. I wonder why they haven't done it YET.
On the positive side, at least McCourty is real close to the receiver and if there is no PI called, he is in good shape to break it up or make a...
re: Wes Welker: "It's nice to stick it in Bill's face every once in a while"
Rumor has it that Welker will suspend Belichick for three games for not making an issue out of it. :D
Exactly. If it comes down to a tiebreaker situation with Houston, we have the opportunity to play them head to head, and win. But, the division comes first.
I, too, thought a lot of Dennard. He will be a good one and just might be the beginning of the end of road for a CB that I think very little of and is a weak link. No names mentioned. :D
As far as McCourty goes, I like him. I even have a 32 jersey. He maintains very good, and very close...
