A turnover is much worse than a missed throw. At least the Patriots were still able to keep the ball and drive down the field (until an offensive pass interference got called a couple of plays afterwards). A turnover would've killed any chance of continuing that drive.
Also, I can't place that...
Having a handful of bad throws (literally 5) and not turning the ball over constitutes as a bad game? I strongly disagree.
However, if Brady had also thrown a pick or two in that game, I would agree with you.
In addition to checking out different links that gave out report cards, I asked this question to a couple of writers and analysts (I specifically asked if they'd give Brady a C for his performance, which I thought sounded about right). Here are the results I got:
Field Yates: C
Christopher...
For the last couple of days, I took some time to look back at the live chat/analysis on ESPN Boston and the Boston Globe for that game (since I can’t access the game on the Internet for free).
It looks like Tom Brady had a total of 4.5 bad throws in the game. The .5, if you're wondering, was...
Tamba Hali and Clay Matthews are 3-4 OLBs, not 4-3 OLBs. Also, I can't believe you're leaving out Mayo, who's already one of the best 4-3 OLBs (definitely top 3) in the game.
It's actually amazing how similar Ninkovich and Vrabel were in each of their first 3 years as major contributors.
According to NFL.com:
Vrabel (2001-3): 17 sacks, 197 tackles, 4 FFs, 18 PDs, 5 Interceptions
Ninkovich (2010-2): 18.5 sacks, 194 tackles, 6 FFs, 9 PDs, 4 Interceptions...
I think the Patriots will go 11-5 in 2013. The offensive will take a major step (or a couple of big steps) back, but with the acquisition of Adrian Wilson and considering how solid the Patriots were when Talib arrived, the Patriots have a legitimate shot of fielding a top 10 defense this...
Yeah I totally agree. Mayo is extremely underrated in many aspects, and he's definitely better than Greenway, Tulloch, and Kuechly, all of whom are already on this year's NFL Top 100 list. In fact, he's just as good as Derrick Johnson, yet another player that's included on this list.
If Mayo...
Actually, McCourty's been playing really well as a cornerback this season. Here are his numbers according to Pro Football Focus:
#4. McCourty: (477) +10.3, 17 of 40 (42%), 264 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 6 PD, QB Rating: 65.6
He's rated as the 4th best cornerback this season, and was named to...
"This guy really has it out for Brady.
After the last SB, he made it loud and clear that Brady can never be the greatest QB of all-time. Never. Ever. Never. Mangini almost laughed at him. There were lots of QBs that will never play in a SB because they aren't good enough; Brady played in 5. I...
Does Rob Parker even know that in 3 of Brady's first 5 playoff games, he had a QB Rating of below 77? Also, in that span, Brady only threw 3 TDs and had 2 INTs. Except for the 2004 season, Brady's career playoff stats have pretty much been not as good as his regular season stats.
Look here...
Yeah, Brady made the pass, and both Welker and Gronkowski weren't able to haul them in. I can't believe Skip Bayless and Rob Parker were saying that Brady lost the game for the Patriots. They're so aggravating to listen to, especially since pretty much every former NFL PLAYER or COACH has agreed...
