Great Stuff From Albert Breer on Mac Jones

Glad you're rooting for Mac. It drives me crazy when people, mostly talk-radio idiots, attack his attitude. Without context, his on-field behaviour at times last year was unseemly. With context, he was forced to run a high school level offense behind a poor OL with no latitude to change plays...

    RIP Clayton Weishuhn

Felt the need to pay homage to the inspiration for my user-name. Prototype run-stuffer MLB from the 80's whose career was derailed by injuries. Shocked to read that he still holds the Pats single season tackle total record.

    2022 Mock Drafts

I would too, but I worry about him ending up in a dumpster-fire organization like the Raiders/Bengals/Lions.

    2022 Mock Drafts

Jordan Davis has a drool-enducing combination of size and athleticism. The only reason he is not projected in the top 5 is his conditioning. He has not been rotated by the Georgia staff situationally(run-stuffer only) but after every 2 plays because he fatigues quickly. The gamble with him is...

Mac Jones vs. the other rookie QBs

Maybe, but natural arm-strength, like running ability is a crutch a lot of the gifted QBs lean on. Instead of developing touch or skills at reading defenses they can resort to forcing balls in. That stops working in the NFL and you get the Jeff Georges of the world.

Mac Jones vs. the other rookie QBs

Including LSU in my prior quote may have been an over-reach, but lashing out at others who challenge your own fanboy posts about Fields is juvenile and rude. That's OK, I'm a big boy and can take it. The posters above are all quoting NFL analytics, which in my "opinion" are much more valid...

Mac Jones vs. the other rookie QBs

You justified your claim that Fields faced better defences than his peers on some analytics graphic you found somewhere. Those defensive stats were based on those Big10 defenses facing the overrated Big10 offenses. This point is not "hard to grasp". Last year's Georgia, Texas A&M, and even...

Mac Jones vs. the other rookie QBs

I never pay attention to college football analytics, as they are inherently flawed. Because certain programs (Notre Dame for example) and conferences (Big10) have been overrated for decades because of history and nostalgia, comparing performances in different conferences cannot be boiled down...

    Cam Released

Complete nonsense. Outback Bowl against Michigan Mac gets drilled and loses a molar. Never missed a play. Uche even said he and other Wolverines were impressed as hell with his toughness.

    So Mac has his nickname

Obvious, juvenile, and BASIC. Might as well have given him a hockey nickname like Jonesy and called that hilarious.

NEW ARTICLE: New Patriots QB Mac Jones Brings His Winning Work Ethic to New England

This post is not a response to any particular post or poster, just my perspective on Mac Jones. I've followed Alabama football for about 8 years now and have my youngest there as a junior now. Having seen every snap they have taken, Mac is a more complete QB than both Tua and Jalen Hurts. He...

NEW ARTICLE: Patriots 2021 Draft Profile, LB Dylan Moses

Please God no. He was truly terrible this year. If he didn't play behind a quality Dline and next to Christian Harris(a top LB pick next year), he might have trouble getting a UDFA chance.

Which QB would you like to see the Patriots target in the draft?

Agree, Trask is trash. Having watched every snap Mac Jones has taken at Alabama(my daughter attends), I think people are underestimating him. The accuracy numbers are real. He did not pad his stats in a dink-and-dunk passing attack, nor did he always have wide-open receivers he could miss a...

Patriots agree to terms with FB Danny Vitale

My favorite player, and most under-rated, of the Montana era 49ers was Tom Rathman. He created horrific matchup problems with his lead blocking and receiving skills. If Vitale can be a serviceable lead blocker in today's NFL that features lighter front 7's, he could create matchup hell of his own.

Tripping calls were bad, but definitely a cop out.

Tripping on the O-line is not a common call. Felt as though the refs may have been alerted to it as a pattern in the Cowboys' pass blocking schemes. Makes it easier to not get beat inside on zonal blocking when you can push the defender sideways over the legs of your neighboring lineman. I...

    Cooks

Always felt like his primary goal was to draw flags and not fight for the ball. That flag he drew on Gilmore was classic Cooks, turn back into the defender and get yourself tangled up with him to make it look like you're being mugged. Something very soccer-y about him.

New Pats preseason TV hosts announced

I still sort of miss Jerry Glanville's stories about giving kids a " comic book, an apple, and a bus ticket" when making cuts.

BOMBSHELL: Kraft just said on the "2 Bills" that the NFL office wanted Parcells to coach the Jets

Parcells never won jack without BB on his hip. Also, Jets fans cry about Belichick being a traitor when he left. They cite the bonus Leon Hess gave him as the HC in waiting when Parcells stopped the BS and became the actual HC. Leon Hess was a respectable guy and was likely ashamed of how...

Did I hear this correctly? A little help please.

The PFW guys make me long for the days of Glanville. His oft repeated story about giving kids a comic book and an apple with a bus ticket when cut still makes me smile.

Kony Ealy - bold prediction, won't make roster

Ealy completely embarassed himself tonight. Looked listless and lazy, and got blown off the ball by backup O-linemen 1-on-1 a couple times. I would say he is cut tomorrow so he doesn't waste the coaches' time or take reps from a guy who gives a sh!t.
