just a note: Babin cannot be compared to Dillon and Moss in terms of "wanting to come here".... Dillon and Moss were TRADED for. Not claimed or signed.
NE has been winning since 2001. NO and GB have the luxury of some high draft picks like Bush and Raji. It's tougher to build from within when you are always drafting at 24 or 27. Nice job for NO and GB, but they have a ways to go - I am not counting GB's old teams...
I'd love to see Mario, and I don't think HOU tenders him (franchise) as the price is high for him - remember, it would be 125% of last year's deal (would be higher than the top 5 avg for last 5 years of DE) and that was a ton. BUT - they aren't about to trade him to NE.
I say sign Calais...
Great post here.
Cannot see them taking DH unless Spikes gets traded (not going to happen) or unless they break DH in slowly with the idea that BS is not re-signed when the time comes AND/OR Bill plays BS and DH inside together with Mayo outside.
More likely (and I like him better, won't...
NGATA! NGATA! NNNNNNN....GATA! He's the man we want, the newest Seymour. With Warren and Bodden coming back, and signing Ngata, we can spend top 7 picks on: Pouncey G/C, Sherrod LT, Bailey DE, Herzlich OLB, Vereen RB, Patrick CB, Boling G/T. Resign Mankins. Sign VJax.
They need to sign Haloti Ngata. Give him VW money, because in a year Ty Warren will be a FA. So draft a 3-4 DE like Heyward/Jordan/Bailey and let them back up Warren for a year...or use a Rd2/3 pick on a lesser DE like JJenkins/Wilkerson/Ballard, who are more in the Jarvis Green mold.
They...
OK, enough about revenues and back to the draft talk...
I say if we're lucky a high-profile or high-need player slides way down to 32 or 33, and some team gets desperate. Maybe a QB slides, or a team thinks it HAS TO HAVE the player there.
Anyhow, for players I could see getting replaced...
I love the idea of a CB in RD1. At first thought, it sounds crazy, since we have HUGE needs at OLB and DE. But imagine if Bodden cannot come back, or if anything happened to McCourty...grab another CB and if Bodden comes back, fine, use the new guy as a nickel. And this gives time to develop...
