    MIKE LBer

Calling the mike can involve a few things from simply sliding protection to identifying a key player the QB think has to be neutralized in order for the play to succeed, to identifying a blitz. It isn't necessarily a right/wrong situation. Possession receiver = someone who can catch the ball...

    Junior Seau has died.

Which is why I would like to believe that CTE will be found to be a determining cause of his premature death. We will just have to wait for the results of that brain study.

    Post-2012 Draft UDFA Signings Thread

Looks like the Pats pulled a BJGE. Apparently they must have liked what they got from BJGE because they went right back to Ole Miss looking for more UDFA RB's.

Seau's family to permit his brain to be studied for CTE

Report: Seau’s family to allow researchers to study his brain - Daily Dose: A Boston Globe blog with health news, advice, and information. I believe that this may be a watershed moment in how CTE will be viewed, and how the league subsequently deals with it, because Seau was such a...

    Gaffney Signed!!

Props to Patchick who called it.

    Junior Seau has died.

This is awful news. Just awful. I wonder if he has specified that his brain be donated to research so they can analyze how much CTE he had.

    Do we need another RB?

Which is why I think for once, we should just stick with four- 3 RB, 1 FB and one on PS, maybe shadow roster. IIRC we had two inactive RB's for at least half the games last season. That is a waste of roster space.

    Welcome Alfonzo Dennard

Patriots wouldn't have taken a flyer on him without inquiring into his legal situation.

The Official NFL Draft Day 3 Thread

This is a great video- shows the all-22, you can see he has a great feel for the stack, great timing. Clean routes, precise breaks. Has the knack to induce missed tackles. 4:22, takes out two linemen with a single block for his QB.

    Welcome Alfonzo Dennard

At least he isn't backing down from a 6'4 230 WR.

Don't think so. Kid was a former dual threat QB.

And not invited to any combine either, but was a hit at his school's pro day.

If it is an one-time mistake, yes. Everyone has one big mistake in their system. The trick is to get it out while you're in college.

Exactly.. That harebrained (hopefully one time mistake) dropped him 5 rounds. Compares with Prince Amukamara. Is a heady player, otherwise.

Idle thoughts - the morning after....

I actually think that wearing the badge of invisibility is a high honor, when it comes to being scrutinized by this board; keeping in mind that not even Tom Brady escapes crucification.

Tavon Wilson sounds like a Patriot

Isn't it a little early to be passing judgement?

Tavon Wilson sounds like a Patriot

He also drafted Vollmer who wasn't invited to any combine.
