Oh, the Patriots are trying, but they are failing. Epic fails.. At every turn. Last off season was a disaster (Jacobi Meyers anyone?) and this one is shaping up into another disaster. Last year we could blame BB, but this year it is sure seems like it is the Krafts behind the screwups. It...
I agree on MHJr, but I suspect that the Krafts will overrule Mayo & Wolf and force the drafting of a big-name splashy QB with pick #3. ANd without protection or anyone to throw to, the Patriots will ruin another QB and it will be back to square one. this sounds very pessimistic, but it...
Bringing back the same players is OK, but how is that going to improve their record? Are you OK with 4 wins? If so, the same team must be OK. As a general rule in the NFL, if you field a team the same team year after year, your record will get worse and worse. You need to upgrade each year...
Well at this point, they put themselves in a bad position heading into the draft. They will now have to try to correct the massive screwups they made during the FA period this year (and last's year massive screwups) with the draft. How many blue chip prospects can they get out of the draft...
OK, how about Jacobi Meyers last year? How did that work out? As Meyers himself said, the Patriots tried to low ball him so they lost him over a million dollars. WR was the Patriots' biggest problem last year; they (probably JKraft) let a key player go and tried to appease the fans by hiring...
Darned if I know. It was just a snarky thing that a caller in the show mentioned and Ted Johnson latched on to. Ted was of the opinion that neither Glaser or Jonathan had the football experience to manage the FA period.
I don't know about that, but I do know that this FA period has been a...
Also a synthetic playing surface. Players prefer natural grass, and I don't blame them. And let's not forget the the douche bag radio jocks covering the Patriots; remember how Felger drove Moss out of town. If I am a player, I don't need that type of distraction. High taxes and bad traffic...
Ted Johnson thinks so and I have to agree. I have not seen such unprofessional conduct by a GM responsibilities since the Sullivans. To me it seems as if the Patriots, very possibly Kraft/Glaser, have been hoodwinked and snookered at every turn. Whiff after whiff. The game plan was simple...
Looks like we whiffed on Tyrone Smith also. Yet another mistake in this horrible FA season.
It seems like our off season, so far, is not being run professionally. The Patriots are screwing up at every turn. I suspect that a meddling J. Kraft is the problem, but I don't know for sure.
I get the feeling that this off season is not being run by professionals. There have been so many embarrassing gaffs and miscues. The Patriots are being snookered at every turn. This is as if some amateur cheapskate is running the FA period.
Either the GM is over his head/out of his element...
It is an average of 23 million a year. Sure it is a lot, but that's the going rate these days. Old School salaries and chiseling, cheapskate contracts just won't work anymore, as the Patriots are finding out the hard way during this disgraceful offseason.
Remember in 1976 when Andy...
Still waiting! [great meme btw] This has been one of the most discouraging offseasons in memory. I was hoping with the regime change, there would be better FA signings, but it is the same old cheapskate tactics. It worked, sort of, in the past, but no longer. The Patriots are now mired in...
So far the FA period has been pretty disgraceful. The Patriots must still think that they can lowball FAs and get away with it.
So if the Patriots are going to be cheap on FA and their facilities and food, I will be cheap with them.
He is still a fine HC, but anyone who hires him needs to lock him out of the draft room on draft day. And for that matter, no GM duties at all. Letting Jacobi go and whiffing on DHop plus the bad drafts and other mistakes make him untouchable as a GM.
Yes, so true.
I did not see any highlights where Penix had to run for his life. Penix lived the life of luxury in the pocket and threw to open guys. If he had been on the Patriots roster last season, we would have destroyed him.
Did you watch the Caleb Williams highlights? That guy was...
I watched a few highlights of Penix. He had perfect protection and WRs that were wide open--this is not what he would experience with the Patriots, at least the way they are constructed now.
