I'm in a 12 team standard league. My WRs are weak but the rest of my team is good. I was offered:
Dez Bryant, Josh Gordon, Terrelle Pryor, and Bryce Brown
For:
Peyton Manning, Eddie Royal, Willis McGahee
I would end up dropping Jerricho Cotchery when the trade goes through.
The rest...
While they don't have to make a decision for many months, I think they could save some money by getting Talib signed to an extension during the season. It could be the difference between him staying or leaving...
Boldin wants to be paid closer to Fitzgerald's contract. There is NO WAY that we could afford him given his salary demands. I also think that BB would never invest that much $$$ into the WR position, isn't Moss getting 9 mil the next two years?
Or are you suggesting that we give up a 2nd and...
I would LOVE to have an iPhone friendly app for this board!!! I think the iPhone overtook the Razor as one of the most used cellphones, so it would make a lot of sense to hop on the bandwagon.
If that's the case, I think this is a great trade. Best case scenario, he steps up like when Gafney came to the Pats. Worst case scenario, he gets cut and we get a pick next year. With all the picks we have, I think it is likely BB makes an additional small trade this offseason.
I heard he returned kicks in Philly, too. Maybe he's brought in to be a ST'er and #4 receiver, have him run some deep fly patterns each game. I'm sure the compensation won't be much.
"When I played for Washington, I was all over the field," Springs said. "I wasn't a full-time safety, but we had a lot of packages where I was like a safety."
I wonder if it came down to Bodden and Springs, BB liked Springs' versatility more. Regardless, I think this is a great signing, I...
Galloway still has something left in the tank, and he would represent the best value out of those 7. If he wants to sign a small 2 year contract, he would be better in that role than Stallworth was.
I heard that Taylor was playing injured most of last year. His production was waaay down, but how much of that was due to injury?
I have been on the Peppers and/or Suggs bandwagon recently, but Taylor getting released is certainly intriguing. It reminds me of when the Chargers released...
I think it comes down to whether he would take a minimal deal here for a year or two to get a ring, or go to Tampa Bay to be closer to his family (not to mention making more money).
As long as Jason Taylor is willing to take a 1 year vet-minimum contract to get a ring, there's no reason you can't have both Peppers and Taylor! :o My God.....:singing:
That might be the conventional wisdom, but if history is any guide, BB is not conventional. If he sees a way to improve the team, he isn't afraid to pull the trigger. He's paid big bucks for AD and Colvin in free agency, traded for Randy Moss, traded a 2nd for Dillon, traded a 2nd for Welker...
Suggs and Peppers would both be amazing additions to the defense. I think Peppers can be had for less compensation that Suggs, though. Baltimore really wants to keep Suggs, and would require offering the two first round picks for a contract that Baltimore would have the option to match. You...
If I remember correctly, the Dolphins gave the Pats a counter offer of the 2nd and something like the 7th. They didn't want to sign the poison pill contract, so they offered him straight up for a little added value in the late draft pick and the Pats took it.
Did I remember that right???
I don't think that it would take 2 #1s. I think that #23 and maybe a third round pick would get it done. There are several reasons I think the Panthers would accept less than market value from us. They lack a first round pick this year, and the 3 other teams that Peppers wants to be traded to...
I think there's a good chance that he would sign a very cap-friendly contract if he could play here.
1) He's said that he doesn't want to play for Carolina anymore
2) He's only giving them a list of 3 NFC teams, and one AFC team that he is willing to be traded to.
3) He said that he would...
I hope BB makes a big push at either Peppers or Suggs. It would be a huge upgrade on defense, instantly solve the pass rush problem, and really help out our secondary.
So all things being equal, you would rather have Peppers, who is
1)Older
2)A conversion project
??? I would love the Pats to get either Suggs or Peppers, but I think Suggs might be a slightly better fit.
