Expanded rosters are always fun, especially when they include defensive players. The standard roster gets dull - league to league it ends up being the same old players mixed and matched among different teams. With larger rosters at least you can follow players you never would have otherwise.
I second that. They're going to be one of those one-and-done SB champs, memorable only because of who they defeated. They don't have the talent for a dynasty.
The only memory I have of Cassel in the Pats historic 2007 season is week 7 against Miami - 4Q, Pats up 42-14. In comes Cassel..incomplete pass, then a pick 6. 42-21. Out he goes, in steps Brady and 2:19 later its 49-21. If you can't even manage to be a caretaker QB in a laugher game, then...
The other plus is that 'spygate' now becomes passe. The story only had the legs it did because of the Pat's success, something the haters never quite grasped. If it was say, the Raiders that were caught videotaping, it would never have amounted to anything more than a sports trivia question.
Shoddy journalism. If they had concrete evidence then I wouldn't blame them for doing their jobs, but its obvious they were only looking to create a buzz before the big game. They couldn't wait.
And the general media reaction is reminiscent of how they reacted to the '96 Olympics Atlanta...
They haven't been able to make any hay with the Moss restraining order, so they're going to keep throwing stuff up against the wall until something sticks.
"Whatever it takes, Patriots will win"
What, and the other 31 teams won't do whatever it takes to win? The will is there for just about every team, especially when they play the Patriots. Its the talent that's missing.
I remember Morris stating that the number next to the 'W' doesn't matter..its the number next to the 'L'. Which is nonsense of course. If sometime in the future there was an eight game season, 2 playoff games and a SB, and someone went 'undefeated', I doubt Morris would be making that same...
That makes the most sense. Any interview would have had the assault incident somehow worked into it. If I were Moss I wouldn't want to deal with that nonsense either.
I admit I didn't have much faith in Maroney, particularly given his inconsistent performance last year and most of this year. But lately he's been durable, stubborn and reliable. Whoever we play in the SB will know they can't play the pass on defense exclusively.
