No. They are good. Gaffney made clutch plays last year. If by "big" you mean long plays for TDs, that guy is Moss. It's better that Welker, Moss, and Gaffney have different skills and roles on this team. Perhaps Slater will play a bit if he can make the team and if Chad falls.
The long ball: Montana > Manning > ... > Brady.
He's got the arm strength, but very inconsistent speed-timing judgement(underthrown & overthrown). Perhaps he can improve now that Randy is onboard for awhile and getting frequent separation.
For those citing the Dolphins game: Moss jump...
Yes, that IS a great strength of his, and also, the ability to read the mismatches pre-snap. But, was he quickly moving from one receiver to another?
In years past, there wasn't a Moss here. The passes were mostly short. There wasn't a favorite receiver. Can we say the same for this year...
1. Does Indy have cap room? Are they dumping Marvin?
2. Isn't Jax unlikely? Jax just got Porter.
3. SD has Jackson and Chambers. Why?
4-5. Phi + NYG know how to take Randy away
Whatever. Please NOT Indy.
Oh, not Jax either. No pass rush against them
Re: browns to sign donte stallworth
Too bad. Had high hopes for Stallworth. They structured the contract to see if the Pats and he would be a good fit. Fell through when Brady starting hooking up with Moss for highlight reel stuff. He didn't complain and was humourous off the field. Those...
I also agree. I would like to have seen more of Stallworth. He is the type of WR who should be deadly with Brady. Awesome after the catch which fits well with Brady's precision. However, he didn't "protect" Brady well enough in Indy on that long throw which was badly under-thrown. Maybe that's...
Would love to have seen more of a workload to Stallworth. I don't think we saw enough of him this year. I don't know how options work. Can anything be done with it?
Please remember the the Pats defensive scheme. Above all, the corners cannot give up the big play. Asante is more suited, but will occasionally cheat and get burned. Obviously, Hobbs and Gay are not well suited. Also, in the red zone, neither is tall/good enough to defend the endzone against...
Don't put words in my mouth I didn't not say they SUCK. Hobbs is not good for starting corner. My opinion. Meriweather looks good and is on schedule. My Opinion. Gay can't cover. Opposing QB's pick on him exclusively when he's in the game and they are succesful.
I'm OK with Moss' comments. Some of the things he says does make me cringe. But, this is not one of them. I'm not sure if he should be back. That money could help in other places.
Also, I'm intrigued with Stallworth. Stallworth and Welker get crazy YAC. I wonder what another guy with somewhat...
He's been great all year. More balls could have went to him during season if not for the Brady to Moss record chase. Perfect fit for this offense, when the offense is run correctly.
The 3-4 is fine. DL is fine.
Merriweather looks good. I think Sanders has had a poor postseason. Harrison has his moments, good and god awful.
Gay can't cover anything. Hobb's is not good. Asante is a ballhawk, but gets beat by no names. I don't think he is a good fit in this defense...
I think what Moss meant about "game-plan" and "intensity" was saying that they didn't play it or coach it well enough. Kind of what the coach says, when they've struggled. Not a problem.
Yes, the OLine/Protection was dominated. However, there were quick passes for 8+ yards to Welker, Stallworth, and Faulk throughout the game. But, mostly, I saw Brady looking down-field to the right with what looks like time for a go or post to develop (will never know, due to constraints of...
