Freeman @ CBS: Moss is Doggin' It Again

Unfortunately these sorts of hack articles have dogged Moss his entire career. The bad thing is, if the Pats go through some kind of losing spell...say for 2-3 years these sorts of articles will have a material impact on the team situation. If you can believe it, Moss was called lazy the year...

Pre 2007 vs. Post 2007 Offense

Re: Pre 2007 vs Post 2007 Offense Apologies, but to which SF-Giants SB are you referring? 1) SF has never lost a SB, they have 5 championships 2) In 1990 it was SF-Broncos 55-10...what I would call a blowout by a pass-happy team with an above average defense. 3) The following year...

Pre 2007 vs. Post 2007 Offense

I disagree...while the teams you cite were indeed offensive juggernauts, none of them had particularly good defenses. Besides, you are citing 1 very close NFC CG, and 2 very close SB wins by more defense-oriented teams, yet you ignore 2 very close SBs(2000 and 2006) won by those same...

OT: From a Vikes fan to Packer fans

Hate to say, while I'm sure this is a disappointment to Packer fans and I LOVE that line "Drink it in. Enjoy that bitter taste.", this is no 1998. That 1998 team was on it's way to a date with history. If they were to win the SB that year they would be on the shortlist of greatest teams ever...

First article I've read that doesn't blame Moss for Oakland

http://www.mercextra.com/blogs/kawakami/2008/01/14/randy-moss-vs-norv-turner-these-two-ex-raiders-are-probably-driving-al-davis-crazy/ He puts it rightly(IMO) on Al Davis and the raiders organization.

Comparing the '07 Patriots and the '98 Vikings

Glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. As an analogy for the New Englanders, that loss '98 to the Falcons was to Minnesota, probably something akin to the Buckner thing with the Red Sox and that grounder. Yep I am definitely living vicarious through these Patriots as well.

Comparing the '07 Patriots and the '98 Vikings

Actually it's good that this Patriots team is drawing out the comparisons to the '98 Vikings. That year was full of such highs and the huge low at the end. I'm not sure the Minnesota fans have ever recovered from that. I know that I personally haven't. If the Vikings had gone on to win the...

Moss' Bad Rep by Media is as Overblown as BB's Bad Rep

Yes, but does the media HAVE to talk about everything that happened and present that as the full picture of a man? What about his charity work? What about his "football intelligence" that really has only been talked about publicly this year after BB and TB brought it up? What about his...

OT: TO gives Jessica Simpson the thumbs down

Yep and to tie it to the other topic below...Moss is EXACTLY like TO

Moss' Bad Rep by Media is as Overblown as BB's Bad Rep

Yeah I think that's the point the OP was trying to make. On a scale of 1-10 in terms of incidents and even law-breaking, if we put guys like Vick and Pacman Jones as 10 and "squeeky" clean guys as 1, Moss is probably a 3-4 given his past. However, the media seems to treat him like a 8-9, like...

Moss' Bad Rep by Media is as Overblown as BB's Bad Rep

Yeah and anyone here that's ever had a traffic ticket has had a "run-in" with the law too, what's your point? He's had some issues, but he's hardly deserving of the scrutiny that the media gives his every move considering the other guys who play in the NFL.
  12. M

Moss' Bad Rep by Media is as Overblown as BB's Bad Rep

He didn't "run over" anybody. The traffic cop sat on his car in the middle of the intersection. This corroborated by MANY witnesses and thus his offense was reduced to a misdemeanor(illegal left turn) and the lawsuit was dismissed(yes the cop tried to sue him for damages).

Jerry Rice isnt as impressed with Moss' record

No it's NOT true and absolutely unfair....do we need to hash over again how Moss has been made much more of a malcontent and even a thug than his actions have warranted? So he had ONE bad season where the Qb is no longer in the league and the coach got fired...boo-frickin-hoo that makes him a...

Jerry Rice isnt as impressed with Moss' record

Wait a sec though, does this mean OJ Simpson still had greatest RB season ever? Since he got 2000 yards in 14 games??? That's crap, football, baseball, have all lengthened their seasons over the years and you don't see anyone else disputing the legitimacy of total season records...well...

Remember: Moss almost went to Packers

If Moss has say 5 more seasons of 15 tds, he would break Jerry Rice's receiving TD record! He would only be 35 at that point.

Moss - Is he or isn't he?

I don't understand...Is Randy Moss sulking or not? We haven't seen Moss be anything but happy this year, from his actions, to his words, to the words of his friends and family...and yet somehow he's supposed to be sulking? Maybe I'm just not smart enough to understand what's really going...

Pittsburgh safeties didn't look very good

Obviously Anthony Smith couldn't back up his talk but Tyrone Carter didn't too good either. I remember Tyrone Carter from the Vikings and he had good atheleticism but was terrible against coverage. I'm actually a little shocked that he's still in the league. The safeties were out of...

Ravens have the true blueprint to beat the Pats

I agree that the standards for PI are shaky but what was occuring last night was beyond the pale...anyone KNOWS that you can't hold beyond 5 yards. We're not talking incidental contact, we're talking about DBs holding and tackling receivers on their routes. I felt like I was watching a game...

Ricky Williams out for the season

You're right I forgot about the fumble, but Ricky Williams was already down and out of play.

Ricky Williams out for the season

Did you see him get stepped on in that play? I'd be shocked if there wasn't a fine for that. Way after the play was dead and totally unnecessary.
