Is anybody honestly surprised? With his first step on the football field in Week 1 this season, Manning had already wrapped up CPOY, MVP, and a Pro Bowl nod.

That would happen only if the presence of Manning improved the offense so much that they would be considered a serious playoff contender. Obviously, that has happened and Manning is one of several reasonable candidates for MVP.

My respect for Manning, already high, has grown this year. He got off to a slow start but has really put it together. His long ball is shot but he is smart enough to know it and work around it. He is easier to like without those fake goody goody Colts fans.
