In Josh Boyer and Brian Flores we trust?

It's disconcerting to have Josh Boyer (Cornerbacks coach) and Brian Flores (Safeties coach) managing the greatest vulnerability on the team.

It is not unusual to write about Dante Scarnecchia and the offensive line adjusting, adapting and improving. It is not unusual to comment on how the linebackers grow and develop as players, and as leaders, under Pepper Johnson. We gush about Josh McDaniels and his ability to put together a game plan that attacks the opponent's weaknesses. Belichick is a deity around here.

How come those coaches are accountable and the two neophytes responsible for the secondary are not?

One would think that the Patriots would have more experience in coaching a defensive secondary than either Boyer or Flores.

(Flores is in his fifth season with the Pats, his first as a Safeties coach. Flores was a LB at BC. Boyer has a background that includes "coaching as an assistant coach at King's College (Pa.). He served as a grad assistant at the University of Dayton (2001) and Kent State (2002-2003) before becoming defensive backs coach at Bryant University in 2004. In 2005, he served as defensive coordinator for the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Boyer played at Muskingum College (Ohio) from 1996-99, playing wide receiver for 3 years before switching to DB as a senior. He was All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a DB.")

LOL.....in BB we trust.......directly and indirectly

stop complaining......you can't even recognize a clear SB team when you can see one...the pats have everyone exactly where they want them

I can't think of anything else to make me be even more facetious

Simple. If players improve, the coaches are good. If players don't improve, the players are bad.

Or so goes the thinking in these parts.

It's pretty simple. BB is the highest paid coach in the NFL.

Scar , Pepper, Patricia and McDaniels probably make a good buck.

All the other guys are just minimum wage filler, brought in from nowheresville, because the coaching budget has already been spent.

That's right, they were the clear Superbowl favorites last year too.

How can people be so blind ?

Pats usually promote from within when they can. They rarely go and get a 'hired gun' DC or OC. I suspect the same is true of the secondary coaches.

And your point is? The question is whether this one of those rare times when we need help from outside. We need a secondary coach to help develop our corner and safeties coaches.

One of them is probably our future DC. Yay! The dominance continues.

These 2 need to step up their game. I doubt they are going anywhere for a while so BB needs to get in there and crack the whip. Clearly they need better oversight.

None of us know enough to say how good of a coach Boyer and Flores are.

We do know that it's Belichick's schemes being implemented. We know that Belichick has final say on which players are drafted. We know that Belichick will not hire a DC from outside the organization 'cause he wants to do it his way.

Belichick is one of the best coaches ever and i'm happy he's leading the team, but the fault of the secondary lies with him.
