What I Just Realized....
I know this is stating the obvious, but our WR core is way above anyone else's in the division, WAAAAYYY better. Looking at the the other teams situations right now-
Bills- Steve Johnson's good.... but he's a moron. The Bills have not much else after that. Jets- Where do I start with Holmes. He's a diva whose production is getting worse and worse. They have Hill who has potential but still he's a rookie. Not much after that. Dolphins- Yikes. Let's just say Devin McCourty will be happy when ever he sees the Dolphins on the calendar. How will the AFC East be able to catch up with us when their best wideout's are two divas and...Devone Bess?!? The only team I'd even worry about is the Bills because of Mario Williams and that defense. Thoughts?? |

Re: What I Just Realized....
I agree that the patriots have improved at Wr and have the best WR's in the division.
We are 13-3 AFC champs and likely will be better this year than last. No one in our division had a winning record last year. I don't think it unusual that we should expect to win our division. As you point out, it IS interesting that the 2nd best team is likely to be the Bills. Quote:

Re: What I Just Realized....
Have the Phins, Jets, or Bills produced a top-10 offense in the last fifteen years? Top-15 offense?

Re: What I Just Realized....
Stephen Hill scares me. I don't necessarily think he'll pan out, but if he does, the Patriots are absolutely ****ed.

Re: What I Just Realized....
The addition of Lloyd (assuming he pans out*) took the WR corps from an incredibly shallow and, overall, undertalented group and turned it into something that could at least be respectable.
The addition of Gaffney (assuming he doesn't decline much from last season*) made this a legitimately high end WR corps and, coupled with the TEs, put the Patriots right up there with teams like the Saints and Packers in terms of overall talent. Branch has gone from being the WR2 to probably being the WR4, which shows the increase in depth as well as top-end talent. *I expect both players to have very good seasons for the Patriots, and to help make this the best receiving group (WR/TE/RB) in the AFC. |

Dolphins were #15 in 2009. Bills were #14 last year (2011). |

Let's not count our chickens. We don't even know the final group and they sure haven't played together. We had one wide receiver last year and he's not a lock.
