These pensions are underfunded in a lot of states and are playing games to kick the can down the road and avoid the day of reckoning.

In NY the are going to borrow from the pension fund to fund the pension fund.

And now, their fears are being realized: cities throughout the state, wealthy towns such as Southampton and East Hampton, counties like Nassau and Suffolk, and other public employers like the Westchester Medical Center and the New York Public Library are all managing their rising pension bills by borrowing from the very same $140 billion pension fund to which they owe money.

Across New York, state and local governments are borrowing $750 million this year to finance their contributions to the state pension system, and are likely to borrow at least $1 billion more over the next year. The number of municipalities and public institutions using this new borrowing mechanism to pay off their annual pension bills has tripled in a year.

These people are nuts.

How about sunny runny California?
There they have some sort of 9/11 victim fund that they been using for the last few years for everything other than 9/11 victims.
Selling license plates.

But an Associated Press review of the $15 million collected since lawmakers approved the “California Memorial Scholarship Program” shows only a small fraction of the money went to scholarships. While 40 percent has funded anti-terror training programs, $3 million was raided by Gov. Jerry Brown and his predecessor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to plug the state’s budget deficit.

Yes. You read that correctly. Two Californian governors raided a fund set up for the families of 9/11 victims so they could do something about their ballooning deficits

...and they are still doing it.

You gotta love democrats and their policys....Bribing people with their own money for over 150 years and counting.

Well its their own fault, they keep electing the same people over and over.....Serves them right, maybe next time they won't elect the guy or gal with perfect hair and lives the high-life.

Its both sides too, the Dem's and the GOP are both crooks, but anytime a 3rd party candidate runs, they loose because running for politics is not about ideas or being a good person, its about telling people what they want to hear, a great leaders doesn't need to lie to his people he has faith that telling them the truth will benefit everyone more in the long run. Our system is like a high school, its all about being popular.

So next time you think about voting ask your self, is this guy/gal just telling me what i want to hear, or telling me the truth....

You run for office and tell people that you have to raise taxes and cut spending and you'll be run out of the place in no time.....the truth hurts so people liked being lied to.

All politicians are crooks which is why the government should be smaller so that they have less to befoul.

My sentiments exactly.
Less goverment less to steal from. But you can't tell these people that.

This is a perfect example though how democrats have used children and minorities for human shields.

The dems say its always "for the children".
My ass. Its for graft and power.
