Q: What instrument knocks Tom Brady down?

A: quarterback sax

Seriously I don't get it. It's in a crossword puzzle today (8/1) here: http://www.uclick.com/client/rmn/fcx/

It's 20 across. Can anyone shed some light on this seemingly inane clue?

Actually, you deserve some credit for that. I'm always making puns and people either tolerate it or excuse themselves and walk away. Maybe there's a job for me in crossword puzzles.
