Goodbye Tek
Goodbye to one of the Red Sox greats. A true professional who was as devoted to the game as anyone else out there. Played it the way it was supposed to be played, was instrumental in our recent run of success, and helped everyone else around him get better as well. It's tough seeing him go, and although part of me still isn't happy about it, we all knew the longer he stayed the worse it was for both parties. He is a red sox icon and I for one move that he get his jersey retired. Hopefully in a little while he will return to help his icon Gary Tuck mentor our young catchers. I could go on forever about him. But no words can do justice to how great a man and player he was!

Re: Goodbye Tek
Great team player. He has two rings, he's caught four no hitters, pitchers love the way he calls the game. I'll miss his game but he lost it a while back and it was time to move on. I'm sure he'll stay in the Sox org in some capacity.

Re: Goodbye Tek
Thank you for retiring Mr Jason Varitek.
We lost one of the worst situational hitters in the history of the game. Put a man on 2nd with no outs late in the fame and Varitek is bound to swing at at a eye level outside pitch and popout to 3nd base. All that is needed is a ground ball to the right side and he never ever did it. Time for the Ryan Lavarnway era to begin. |

Great captain...it seems like all my favorite players are leaving one by one.
