Torn between FA WRs Mike Wallace and Brandon Lloyd...

I'm torn between who I want most... Lloyd alot cheaper (presumably) and JMD's buddy but older. Then Wallace, would need a 1st rounder plus his high salary but hes 26 years old and has immense speed and great hands... Who do we all prefer?

Is there any real chance we could keep Welker and get both Wallace and Lloyd? And in the process drop Ocho and maybe even Branch...?

Strongly Prefer Lloyd.

No draft pick involved

Clear history of the Offensive Coordinator and him working well together

1st rounder? Why are you under the impression we would trade for Wallace?

It isn't a matter of trading. He is a RFA. He will be tendered. If the Steelers get cap room, they will most likely tender him at the highest tender which is a first and a third. Might tag him at the second highest tender which is a first.

Either way, I think that is too rich for the Pats' blood to give him a contract offer. Then again, I though a second was too much to give up for Welker and the Pats disagreed and threw in a seventh for good measure.

How is this even a debate? If both are available, Wallace is the first choice hands down. Dude is a complete stud and way younger.

Because Wallace is a RFA and the Pats will have to give up a high draft pick or two to get him while Lloyd is an UFA. Wallace is likely to be tendered so high that he is off the table though. I don't see the Pats giving up a first and a third or a first for Walace. If the Steelers are dumb enough to give Wallace a second round tender, then the Pats should jump on him.

Wallace will probably demand a bigger contract, and he'll cost a first rounder on top of that. I like the move from a 'youth' perspective, but there's certainly room for a debate here.

There is not such thing as a 1st and 3rd round tender anymore. The highest level is a 1st rounder. For the Pats that would be the 31st pick.

He will definitely demand a bigger contract because he's much better than Brandon Lloyd. I wouldn't mind parting with the 31st pick for Wallace but the priority should be rebuilding/supplementing the defense. If they can pick up a FA Safety then plan to use the 27th pick on a DL then I suppose they could justify the Wallace move.
