Pick 27- Peter Konz, C: the best player at this point in the draft and fills a need.

Pick 31- Harrison Smith, S: the centerfield safety the Patriots need and a great fit across from Chung.

Pick 48- Juron Criner, WR: a few character concerns but the talent outweighs them. True Playmaker

Pick 63- Brandon Boykin, CB: typical pats pick, Boykin is a jack of all trades player who can also play receiver

Pick 94- Chris Givens, WR: the past couple of years the patriots have double dipped with skill position players and I think they do the same this year at receiver.

Pick 126- Donte Paige-Moss, DE/LB: major character concerns but as a 4th round pick the patriots are willing to gamble as they did last year with Ryan Mallett. Like Mallett, Moss is a first round talent.

I like your thoughts on Konz but you lose me after that. One of the top 2 picks has to be DT as that will also be best player available.

The only DTs worth taking early are still and brockers and they won't be available where the pats pick. Dontari Poe will be gone early in the second and is not worth a first round pick and jerel worthy and Brandon thompson can't play 3-4 defensively end and that's who the patriots are looking for. Best case scenario is they trade up for brockers but lose out on konz.

Pick 126 is probably the biggest pos in this draft and you'd be willing to gamble a 4th on him?Talented yes, but his character concerns are more than major to me.

Not worth to trade up when you can have two excellent DT/DEs in Jared Crick and Derek Wolfe, both with great size and strength.
Wolfe put up 9.5 sacks and a monster 21.5 TFLs while being mostly double teamed. This guy is a beast.Derek Wolfe Highlight: 2011 Big East Defensive POY - YouTube

Both Crick and Wolfe have excellent sack numbers for their position, much better than Still, Brockers, Cox, Poe or Worthy. Both Crick and Wolfe are better pass rushers than other DTs.

I would certainly take Crick and Wolfe in the first 2 rounds, then add Bequette in the third and Miles Burris later. What a great pass rushing team the Pats would become. At least I can dream.

If I am Houston, I take Poe in the first round and plug him in at NT in my defense. He is huge and once he learns technique, should be perfect as a 3-4 NT for the next decade.

Poe on either Pittsburgh or the Texans is pretty scary. Massive potential right there.
