Mike Wallace = target for Pats deep threat?
I would gladly give up the 31st pick for Wallace. He will cost a lot but anytime you can obtain a great player at a postion of need while weakening your opponent, it's a win-win. The Steelers will do whatever they can to match the offer but they are in a tough cap position right now.
Rotoworld - Fantasy Sports, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey - news, draft guide, draft kit, projections, trade analyzer and more. Steelers reportedly restructured the contract of ILB Lawrence Timmons, freeing up $5.14 million in salary cap space. The Steelers have saved $11.7 million against the 2012 cap by restructuring Timmons and LaMarr Woodley. Timmons' base salary was reduced to $700,000, but he's now due a $6.425 million signing bonus prorated at $1.285 million per over the next five years. The Steelers may not be done restructuring, as they need to free enough space to match offers for Mike Wallace now that the maximum tender for restricted free agents is at the first-round level. |

Greetings,
No complaints from me with him on the Patriots roster. Celticboy04 |
re: Mike Wallace = target for Pats deep threat?
Greetings,
Thing I love about him is he is just not a deep threat anymore. The past two years he has improved dramatically on all facets of playing wide receiver. He has no problem catching short passes, which are very helpful towards the team. With that being said, I don't know if they let him go. I know they have a lot of talent at that position, but he is already a proven entity who will only get better with time. Celticboy04 |

If the Pats were going to give up a 1st round pick on a RFA I'd rather see them go after Lardarius Webb from the Ravens. We'll get our #1 corner and McCourty can move to FS. That should help our secondary. The Ravens have three big FA's in Webb, Ray Rice and Ben Grubbs. I'd think the would francise Rice above all.

So how does the tender work, we offer the 31st pick and he's ours? Does he have a say or is it the Steelers last say?
The idea of getting a top 10 WR and severely weakening one of our threats to the Superbowl is intersting. |
