The sting is already fading
Who would have thought that we would get to the big game with this Defense? So many jags and outcasts came together to create a pretty good team down the stretch. Who would have thought that our one of our two biggest acquisitions would be gone before mid season and the other would be a complete non factor and we would still be in Indy in february. Like Ray Lewis said, only one team wins this thing every year and its their year. The Giants made plays down the stretch and the Pats left some out on the field but thats the way it goes some times. The ball bounced their way....3 times;). Going into this offseason BB has plenty of ammo and cap space to work with to improve in some key positions and the few game changers were lacking to really be back on top.

Is liquor making the sting fade?

Re: The sting is already fading
I thought it would be a really tough game going in, and I feel a lot better right now than I did the last 5 years, so whatever.
not making excuses -- I'd rather win, obviously, but this is still an awesome team and it was a great year. hopefully, they can build on this base to even better teams in the future. |
Re: The sting is already fading
If you lose the Super Bowl to a great team that is one thing. Losing winnable games just sucks.

Re: The sting is already fading
Not to me.
The worst part is that it was the Giants again. |
Re: The sting is already fading
I wish I had your resolve. This team was talented. One more lucky bounce and we would have won. Speaking of which, how many punts did the Giants luck out on and pin us back near tyhe goaline?

Re: The sting is already fading
I suppose
To me it doesn't hurt as bad as '07, and I think part of that was I truly felt the Pats were playing over their head. I also think the role of the villian is severely understated. Imagine the mental toll on our guys when they can just feel the hate in a building. That was an away game for the Pats, and nobody wanted them to win but their fan base. Must be mentally draining |
Re: The sting is already fading
I agree with this I was very nervous going into the game, very grateful the Pats were there, and I'm still grateful. I thought they played great -- just not great enough. Welker hangs on to a throw he almost always hangs on to -- albeit a difficult catch -- and the story is completely different.
Be glad this is the team we root for. |
Re: The sting is already fading
Nothing will ever sting as bad as losing SB42. This is a tough loss but it is easy compared to that. I was dwelling over that game for months!

Re: The sting is already fading
One deep threat with athletic ability and this team is SB champion, Chad is good but wasn't the answer for what we needed.
Tom throwing these sub 20 yard passes all season long and still getting us to the SB is actually quite remarkable but it's funny that with a Jared Allen type player on D and a Desean Jackson/Brandon Lloyd type receiver we'd be so much better off right now. It's hard to feel better but if we get the right keys then i guarantee you this team will be back next season. |
