Jets seek permission to talk to Favre

I thought his royal highness wanted to go to a contender?

I hope not. All the Jets need is a somewhat capable quarterback to be the least bit competitive again. Here's to hoping Favre is Tampa bound.

Please do.

An immobile, wild, or as they say gunslinging, QB behind the Jets porous offensive line will only equate to confidence for our secondary.

Eh, I want to play it down, but I can't. I'd much rather see Pennington or Clemens behind center than Favre.

if he goes to the jets ESPN will be even more towards NE because their beloved player is on the team which the pats love to hate. not mention all the circus with BB/mangini good vs evil blah blah

Oh please, this would be fantastic. Favre isn't enough to put the jets over the top so it just hamstrings them for a few years and gets them a little more pub. They still will lose both times to us. Awesome. Please do it.

Favre would immediately improve that team, which isn't something I want (not that it frightens me, either, I simply prefer a division full of suck).

Favre in diarrhea green and white would be entertaining, though, simply for the fact that the New York media blows and the fans would turn on him without hesitation for any perceived mistake.

getting rid of Jason Taylor?......then bringing the hopes and dreams of Kellen Clemmens crushing back to Earth....?

all we need now is for Miami to sign Ryan Leaf...

Favre would retire AGAIN before going to the Jets.

I am against any move that will make a division opponent stronger, however the reason farve regained some of his old form last year was that he actually worked out and prepared for the season. I saw a lot of Farve quotes last year about all of the time "extra" time he spent watching video ect. That extra time he is referring to is just the normal amount of time guys like TB and PM put in every year.

Somehow I don't think Farve has been living in the gym all offseason or preparing to play an NFL season. My guess wherever he ends up he reverts to the Farve of the past five years ( you know 3 tds 4 Ints).

But all that will be fine as long as he throws a jump hook pass or lefthanded toss to the RB that way Chris Berman can give him a WHOOP on NFL Primtime.
