Anti McCain add from Move On won points with this Neo Con.
I seen Bill O'Rielly laugh at this add last night.
http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/topics/moveon A women with a baby said to John McCain, if you plan to be in Iraq for 100 years, you can't have my baby. I am a father of 2 children under the age of two and that add made points with me. I don't want my son to get stuck going to war and risking his life to fight for the rights of another nation. Most of the wars we get in, we are fighting for someone else (Vietnam, Korea). I can understand world war II. Hitler needed to be stopped and we were attached by Japan. I just don't buy into this war on terror for a reason for staying in Iraq. If they want to fight the war on terror. Go into Pakastan or where ever and get Bin Ladin. Having our soldiers patrol streets filled with road side bombs is not a good idea. I do not want my son patrolling the streets of Iraq in 2025. I did 4 years in the Navy in the early 80's (no war). With the way our troops are serving tour after tour, it is only a matter of time before people get out and enrollment declines. I would not be shocked to see a draft in the next few years. I agree with the lady in the add. I do not want my son fighting someone else's war in 2025. If they ever did have a draft in 2025, I would tell my son to join the Navy so that he would not end up on the front lines fighting patrolling streets filled with bombs. Yes.... This Neo Con posts his feeling..... not the party line. |

you actually admit that youre a neocon?
gotta give you credit for your transparency on that one... most would never openly admit it. |
Re: Anti McCain add from Move On won points with this Neo Con.
Neoconservatism is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States from the rejection of the social liberalism, moral relativism, and New Left counterculture of the 1960s. It influenced the presidential administrations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, representing a realignment in American politics, and the defection of some liberals to the right side of the political spectrum; hence the term, which refers to being 'new' conservatives

That ad was so ridiculous. I guess that woman doesn't know there isn't a draft

Interesting, cupofjoe. I often wonder if those kind of ads only affect liberals, since they appeal more to the heart than to the mind. But, you have shown we all have some common ground -- that we're all concerned about the wellbeing of the future generations -- regardless of who we ultimately vote for.

I don't care for either candidate ... however Obama's less confrontational stance on world issues attacts me more than McCains. I will want to see Obama get a bit more tough ... but not like Bush ... not even close. A little tougher than Clinton and a bit less than Reagan will work for me. |
Re: Anti McCain add from Move On won points with this Neo Con.
He'll be very soft on Foreign Policy, softer then Clinton I bet {like winnie the pooh soft}, but it's actually his taxes are what scare the ***** outta me.
