Do you see any players from Urban Meyer,Charlie Weis or Nick Saban drafted here?

Belichick's buddies Weis,Saban and Meyer probably have talked about some of thier NFL draft prospects over the offseason.

Do you see any players of Alabama..Notre Dame or Florida as serious contenders to make the team?

I am too lazy to sort out all the players coming from these 3 schools hoping to get into the pros,so if anyone has a couple good prospects from these colleges put em down here

I do know Trevor Laws is a small possibility....

I'd say Laws is small possibility, mainly due to the fact that other teams would value him more. Is he there in the 4th, maybe 3rd, yes. Prolly, he won't be.

I think something is lost in predicting the future of the NFL. I think most folks think that college players need to acclimate to the NFL game. While that's often true in the short run, it's really not accurate over say, a decade.

The high school game talent predicates what is available for success in the college game. I think this is self-evident. Where the rift begins is at the college to pro transition.

It is a tiered system, right? Yet most folks think the NFL dictates what decides all.

There is a reason why BB is intimate which respected college coaches.

I do think its more than a coincidence that this team drafted quite a few LSU players when Saban was there and Richardson last year from ND so I bet BB does get a bit of info from his friends and whether they are good prospects or not,Thats why I think it may very well be possible a player from Florida,Alabama or Notre Dame is a drafted player on the 2008 roster for NE.

One guy that's a possibility is Tom Zbikowski from Notre Dame. He is probably a lifetime special teamer, but he has the attitude BB loves.

Andre Caldwell, Derrick Harvey, Drew Miller from UF could warrant consideration.

Andre Caldwell is the guy Id love to see in a Pats uni. Kid's a fast, studly playmaker. But I dont see him falling to our pick late in the 2nd. I dont want any players from that Notre Dame D. That was a horrible unit. And all of those guys from Alabama arent really Saban players, so I doubt we'll be on any of them.

There might be a sleeper in there somewhere of the 3 schools...not a big name, but a UDFA..and that is where one may see a player...will be interesting to see if any are drafted

I think that their real value comes from scouting. Each coach can tell you who the best players they played against are. For example, Saban played Auburn and will tell Belichick all about Groves. When Saban drafted Ronnie Brown, he knew how physical he was because he beat up all the LSU players. Some of the scouting will be internal, so there is no doubt of that benefit, but having in depth, first hand information about SEC teams, for example, is really invaluable.

Was just about to post the same thing. Another example is Meyer on Groves, and I'm guessing Meyer would give a glowing review as that was Groves' big game. There are so many SEC players and it's nice having eyes in both divisions.
