Saints in talks with Rams about trading up to the #2 spot
http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/home_NFL.aspx
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Saints have had contact with the Rams about a potential trade up in the NFL Draft. Schefter calls the talks "preliminary." The Scott Linehan Rams have executed several draft-day trades. The Saints could be eyeing Glenn Dorsey or Vernon Gholston with Will Smith in a contract season, but might have to offer 2009 picks because they have only six this year. With Linehan in must-win mode in 2008, future choices won't be enticing for St. Louis. |

They must really like....someone...:D
If Jake Long goes first overall (still a question mark), then Dorsey, Chris Long, and maybe Gholston would seem like the Saints likely targets at 2nd overall. Other than the fact that the Saints are interested in trading up, these talks don't really tell you all that much. Their willingness to trade up could be something of note for the Patriots, if a player the Saints covet falls to 7th overall though. |

Yep, has to be Dorsey... and I think they would have to go to #2 to get him, as Miami doesn't seem to be looking at Dorsey and the Falcons are very high on him right after that. Either way, I mean it doesn't have a big impact on us, but it does get rid of one possible trade down option.
