Re: Uncle Sam's 3 Round mock 1.0
Do we need Pollack in Round 3? We have an all-pro C signed to a long-term contract. I like the idea of trading down. Can quibble a little with the players. But, can see a scenario like your's playing out. Give me Erin Henderson, C.Ellis or D.Robertson over Pollack and I'm on board.

Re: Uncle Sam's 3 Round mock 1.0
I like Round 1, but 2 and 3 not so much... Brown and Pollack are not needed, Goff is way too early IMO, and there are better players at more needed positions available such as Godfrey.

ASU uses him on a lot of pulls and traps. Shows good mobility and body control to consistently hit the moving target. He displays nimble feet in the short area and does a nice job of shuffling his feet and mirroring pass rushers. He is a natural knee bender. Also shows a strong, quick and compact punch that allows him to get his hands inside on rushers. Keeps his head on a swivel and shows great ability to recognize stunts..." http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft/...layer?id=11552 Getting McKelvin, Duane Brown, Jonathan Goff, Mike Pollack, & Jack Williams would be a great haul in the first three rounds IMO. Did we miss on some people? Of course, it's a lottery and others are playing. |
Re: Uncle Sam's 3 Round mock 1.0
That would be a terrible draft for the Pats. A tackle and a center in the first three rounds? No thank you! I see the Pats trading down not once, but twice which could give them 4 third rounders to play with (2 of their own and 2 acquired through draft day trades). In the first round, the Pats need to get a pass rushing LB ala Quientin Groves. In the second round, I think the Pats could use one of their 4th's and trade up to grab a CB or best player available (which is hopefully on the defensive side of the ball). I think one of these "top corners" that we think we be in the first round will drop into the second round. Then rinse and repeat in the third round. And for the love of god, please don't trade a TE until the 5th round!

Re: Uncle Sam's 3 Round mock 1.0
McKelvin's a decent pick, but I'm not sure I like the other picks you take for the Pats. It looks marginally bad. I think the Pats would be better served by moving up in the second round to secure another solid guy with starter potential.

Re: Uncle Sam's 3 Round mock 1.0
ROUND ONE
So you project that we take the risk of trading and then lose our opportunity at one of the top LB's? I would only trade down to 10 if bb was happy with taking either Harvey or Rivers. Given what is available later and our needs, McKelvin is a terrible pick for us. Quote:
