Watching games on NFL Network without using the mute button is much awaited.

Thank God. Mumble Gumbel is, BY FAR, the worst announcer you could possibly have to call football games. Pairing him and Collinsworth up was a huge mistake for the NFL Network. I can't click the link because I'm at work, but did it say who they were getting to replace him?

Thank god, that was the single worst NFL experience I can remember - he was worse than Dennis Miller and Kornheiser rolled into one.

I think this thread should be titled:

It would appear Bryant Gumbel is out at the NFL Network.

I still have a hard time understanding how networks pay these guys such big salaries to be so routinely and uniformly awful. I've kept the volume turned off for sporting events for years, and something funny happened: I enjoyed them more.

Good play by Peyton - I mean Eli Manning! I mean, look at how he throws that hockey puck to Plaxicat Burress! Jim Coughlin, I'm sorry, Tom Fassel, must be so proud! New York Knicks lead by two touchbacks after the end of the first period.

Why, it appears to me his own statement couldn't be any clearer...
