T.Y. Hilton, WR, FIU: Crazy explosive slot fit.
Game's on ESPN right now. FIU vs Louisville, and Hilton is tearing up the Cardinals. Great agility, great footwork, feels zones extremely well, and out of this world burst. I think a good slot receiver is a priority this year. Time to put him on the watch list.

I think it might be more of a case of Louisville sucking really, really bad. And Louisville's D-coordinator not being fit to coach a Pop Warner team.

Stern but fair. He's also a four year starter and as a junior was the sunbelt conference's POY with 50 odd catches for over 800 yards, nearly 300 yards rushing, and over 900 yards of return yardage, including two kickoffs returned for six. Nice stats, and I've never seen burst like Hilton has. It's shocking.

With welker in place backed up by Edelman , sorry can't see it.
Center biggest most pressing need, Bill will most likely send a first & second to bolster 2013, that leaves us the picks to grab another low first or high second rounder. You want a slot receiver or safety or olb. With the remaining picks how about finding a replacement or two for our backup O-linemen. If anybody can convince me that protecting Tom isn't priority one, then I might change my mind and S & OLB screams out for an impact player, if I had to make a choice between the two, I'd take an OLB ahead of S. |
Re: T.Y. Hilton, WR, FIU: Crazy explosive slot fit.
Call me crazy, but I think one could adress S, OLB, C, and slot in the same draft. That's the beauty of inside receivers. They tend to last. :)

So where in the draft would Hilton go? I know Brewster and McDonald are my two favorite guys, so there go the two first rounders!

Then again the Pats have been known to make 'just in case' picks that pan out quite well in hindsight. Example McCourty when we thought we'd have Bodden healthy. And now Solder when we thought we'd have Vollmer healthy. |

[QUOTE=VJCPatriot;2674358]The Pats have generally had horrible luck with their WR picks in recent years. However if this kid is the next Deion Branch, I'm all aboard for a 2nd round look. Still too early to tell what's going to happen though. If Welker gets an extension, then the priority of WR drops way down. Won't be able to tell till we get to that point./QUOTE]
It is very hard to find WR's that run good option routes. That is why giving Price a red shirt year was a great thing in my mind. He came from an offense that is vastly different than ours and based on play in the pre season, he learned a good deal in that red shirt year. If healthy he could steal some playng time from one of the veterans this year. |
