Get the G&G Boys, Groves and Goff, and I'll be happy. I still think you're way stretching DRC.

If that is your dream draft, Thank god you aren't the Patriots GM.

DRC is WAY over-rated and not nearly as good as people think.

I don't get this love affair people have with Curtis Lofton. He's not that great of an ILB. His agility was over-rated by many and he proved that with his mediocre performance at the combine and pro day. Its pretty sad when Offensive linemen show better change of direction agility than he does. On top of this, You've got the Pats wasting a 3rd round choice to trade up for him? WOW.

Gooden is friggen INJURY PRONE. He's not had a single season where he's been injury free except his freshmen year. Not to mention he's not that great of a prospect for the 3-4 because he isn't that smart. He survives almost purely on his instincts.

Dexter Jackson's not lasting until the 5th round.

You've got Slaton also sliding into the 5th round? WOW. Umm.. oh, yeah.. Who is slaton replacing to make the roster since the Pats aren't likely to carry 4 RBs.

Why do you want Erik Ainge? Why do you believe the Pats should WASTE a draft pick on a QB when they already have 2 in development behind Brady? One of which showed enough promise that Belichick chose to keep him over Vinny T.

Then you're not counting Eckel and Evans as RBs?

I tend to look at Dabruinz posts and disagree before I'm even finished :)
But this time.. he's 100% right.. DRC was nothing special prior to the senior bowl and combine. He had 2 int's last year.. Now people will say he avg around 3 ypc on his side of the field.. Well lets remember, he is playing weaker opponents week in and week out. I've read multiple times in different places that this guy was constantly beaten by guys that will never see the light of day in the NFL..

Why would I count Eckel and Evans as RBs when they are FBs?

DRC is WAY over-rated and not nearly as good as people think.

Keep telling yourself that, maybe someday you'll believe it.

I don't get this love affair people have with Curtis Lofton. He's not that great of an ILB. Lofton is classic guy that won't test well, won't whoa you with his agility or athletism, but will be one of those guys that will just make plays all over the field. People said the same crap about Lofa Tatupu, how did that turn out ?

Gooden is friggen INJURY PRONE. He's not had a single season where he's been injury free except his freshmen year. Not to mention he's not that great of a prospect for the 3-4 because he isn't that smart. He survives almost purely on his instincts.

"Not that smart", ok, that's funny, neither is Keith Rivers and he's a top 10 lock.

And now this from your favorite Scouting site on Gooden:
(Like I said, get your facts straight)

Draft Scout Snapshot: DS Rating on 08/12/07: #11 OLB, #108/750 Overall, Projected: 3-4

03/05/08 - 03/05/08 - Draft Scout Risers: Tavares Gooden, LB, Miami: Gooden stole the show at Miami's Pro Day, despite most scouts attending the workout to see fellow defenders Phillips and Campbell. The workout was especially important for Gooden, as he was red-flagged at the Senior Bowl for a hip injury and sent home early. While his Combine performance was solid, Gooden's Pro Day efforts were outstanding. A versatile linebacker with experience at all three positions, Gooden was clocked in the high 4.4s in the 40-yard dash at 6-feet-1 and 234 pounds. His 39.5-inch vertical jump in Miami was better than anyone managed at the Combine this year.

Why do you want Erik Ainge? Why do you believe the Pats should WASTE a draft pick on a QB when they already have 2 in development behind Brady? One of which showed enough promise that Belichick chose to keep him over Vinny T.

Dude, I have a news for you, Matt Cassel has REGRESSED with every snap, I have 0 confidence in that guy, NADA !!!!!!!!! He bites, we cleary have to upgrade the position and if Erik Ainge is there, I'm all for it. If you want to put your eggs into Matt Gutierrez's basket, good luck..........

I have a hunch that the Pats will draft a RB in this rich running class.

I want to see:

Gholston
2 CB's
Dexter Jackson
2 ILB's (I want Dunbar here in the late rds.)

ill be frank....i hope our draft ends up nothing like your wish.....

i want mcfadden to fall to 7, we trade with the boys...

using the first of the boys 1st round pick take groves

then select cason with our late 1st rounder

use the 2nd rd pick on chris johnson

and the two 3rd picks on goff and another CB

and get bobby carpenter in the trade with the boys as well

gives us OLB- groves
ILB - goff
CB - cason and another late 3rd rounder
plus bobby carpenter, prob an ILB in our system

Re: My Dream Draft - April 2008

I'm hoping your scenario works out too ALP. I think the Cowboys will end up dealing the Jesters though. I can actually see a scenario where both of the top ol slide to us.

Miami - C.Long
St.L - V.Gholston
Atl. - G.Dorsey
Oak - S.Ellis
KC - M.Ryan
NYJ - Trade McFdden to Dallas.
NE - J.Long,R.Clady?? or trade down. Would suck. But, could happen. I think the guys teams will trade up for are; Ryan,DMAC, and one of the OL if the other is already gone. But, if both are on the board when we pick. A team behind us may show some patience.
