Black? Baby? Valedictorian? No Way!!!

Part of doing well in school or in the work world is pride in one's self. Part of it is the incentitive of recognition of a tough job done well.

Apparently, unless this story turns out to have some other component which isn't available to us yet, the latter just isn't there for young black girls with children.

Maybe the school thought she watched too much television - black people do that, you know....and they lack discipline. I know they do. State told me so.

That's why she needed a white counter-part with a lower GPA. Someone who wasn't genetically lazy and undisciplined and flopped in front of a TV set makes a far better valedictorian - dam the better grades and all.

Kymberly Wimberly was the top student at McGehee Secondary School in Little Rock, Ark. As is customary, the school named her valedictorian. Shortly after, the school's principal, Darrell Thompson, appointed a white student with a lower grade point average as co-valedictorian to avoid a "big mess" at the majority white school.

For some reason, the principal thought this was acceptable, which is why Wimberly's mother is suing the school system. In the lawsuit, she also states that black students are discouraged from taking honors and Advanced Placement classes and that the school is discriminating against her daughter as valedictorian because Kymberly is a young mother.

Black Valedictorian Can't Be Top Student?

That's in line with my expectations of most school administrators: not too sharp.

Another example of the failure of the public school system and unions.

The kid has a beef. BTW I bet that State is a big fan of Thomas Sowell, W Williams and H Cain. He probably see the problems in the black community as being cultural, as do many black conservatives.

Unions? Why, because you chose to give the Obama theme a rest?

The administrator of most schools came through the union and reflects their mindset.

Didn't know Obozo worked at the school something you'd like to share about that?

An administrator makes a bad decision, thus it is the union thugs who did it..

The right has been listening to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh too much, they learned to connect dots.. where there are not dots.

I believe it was posted in reaction to another poster who revels on obscure articles such as this and finds cultural trends that fit his agenda.
