OPINION: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
Just one guy's opinion, but I'll take it, he sees Morgan coming to the Pats:
I think he's a perfect fit and we should be able to get him at the right price. His health will obviously be the key issue, but Dan needs a team and we need ILBs. This would allow us to focus on CB if we were able to bring in Morgan. http://community.heraldonline.com/two_cuts_in http://www.heraldonline.com/247/story/357694.html |
Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
he was one of my favourite non Pats players till a couple of years ago
if i am not wrong he was very often injured in the last period if healthy i would like to see him with us; no doubt |
Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
Morgan is an absolute stud when healthy, but that's just the problem, he's never healthy. 4 games in the last 2 years and some severe concussion issues (as well as a torn achilles now)? I'm thinking the odds are very poor he'll be healthy next year, but for cheap, I'd definitely take a flyer on him.
Low risk (cost) and potentially a very high reward if he could ever stay healthy. I just would hope they don't go into the year expecting anything from him. If he stays healthy, we've got a Pro Bowl caliber ILB. If not, we better have a starting caliber ILB waiting on the bench. |
Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
There will be a market but limited guaranteed offers, given his situation. I'd be intrigued by him but we all know his injury situation.

Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
Post ted johnson, would make me a little skeptical about any LB with a history of Concussion problems..

Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
I beleve that he is one more injury from retirement. On the off chance he stays healthy, and depending on what he would be willing to sign for, it could be a good move.

Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
If no team makes him a decent offer in the first few weeks of FA, I could see him coming here for near the minimum. He would be a solid contributor if healthy, but he isn't worth much more than the minimum.

Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
Unless some teams comes out and offers him 5 million or some really foolish offer. I dont see how he wouldnt mind coming to the Pats. Its not like theres a thing called backups if your in the Pats rotation at LB.
Morgan would come in here and for the first time be able to play all 16 games. |
Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
I would not get very excited about Dan Morgan coming to NE. From all reports, his health (multiple concussions) is a huge question.

Re: Dan Morgan, Pats in the running?
alright,
lets get a guy who has played 59 of his 108 career games in 7 yrs .towards the last couple he has not even suited up alot so he should be fresh. also, clear a seat in the IR group too. |
