Sarah Palin on Paul Revere

“…he who warned the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringin’ those bells and, um, makin’ sure as he’s ridin’ his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free. And we were gonna be armed.”

Sarah Palin badly mangles the story of Paul Revere’s ride in statement*|*Raw Replay

You can't make this stuff up....

classic Palin....a true american idiot.

I was waiting for her to say that Paul Revere was named after the town of Revere, which means "less Government, and lower taxes" in the native Shawmut.

gotta give her credit -- she's amusing

She sounds like a mediocre high school student, fumbling along as she makes things up.

(btw, did you see the clip on Daily Show about Trump and NYC pizza? I really hope there are no quotes from her trip to Boston lauding the Sox, akin to her praise for "real New York pizza")

The Pizza thing was classic. Eating at a chain? REAL NY pizza is tossed by a hairy guido named Enzo, and has a puddle of grease and a few dough bubbles. And....for all thats good....and Mr. Trump...YOU NEVER EAT IT WITH A FORK!!!

fold...fold....FOLD.

And Bachmann thought Concord of Lexington/Concord was in NH. Is it because most of us are from New England and know the history involved or is it because politics tends to attract both ends of the political spectrum, the Bill Bradley Rhodes Scholars, and those at the shallow end of the gene pool who don't know rudimentary history...?

For other parts of the country, US history is different than the real history. We are prolly better at it because of our proximity and ability to comprehend what we read...or for that matter, our ability to read!

Politicians should at least brush up on the stories of the place they are going to. Some politicians like Palin appeal to the LCD and are therefore exempted by their fans from having intelligence, though. No point in expecting your politicians to be smarter than you are. That'd just make you feel bad 'boutcher self.

What issues do people disagree with Palin about and why? Her positions are very well thought out her and hubby have run small businesses which is more than the politicians running the country into the ditch have done.

Funny, I heard a lot about Bush's business experience from the pubbies who loved him so.

But if you want to discuss Palin's platform, maybe you should start a thread about it. This thread is about Sarah Palin's foolish comments about Paul Revere.

As a mod, especially, you should know better than to try to hijack a thread to suit your own agenda.

Need to remind you that Jimmy Carter ran a small business also, inow so?? As much as you long and pine for a businessman, just about every president is a career politician in some form or another..

Besides her love of "motorcycle emissions", she is coming across as a grifter raising money for her PAC, but there is no political stuff going on.. so she is pocketing the donations..

I wish the press would ignore her, then she could complain that the press was ignoring her even though she wants to be ignored...

Here are some comments that may be salient to this discussion..

Quote:

While Palin has reveled in giving an extended one-fingered salute to the national press, refusing to give out details about her travel schedule and forcing reporters to literally chase her vehicle up I-95 in order to cover her, she reached out to precious few activists and party leaders in the states she visited. And the locals have noticed, leaving them scratching their heads and looking for a rationale for a candidacy.

Pennsylvania Republican Party Chairman Rob Gleason, whose state hosted Palin on visits to Gettysburg and the Liberty Bell, voiced a common exasperation about Palin’s tour: “I don’t think theater wins elections.”

“But she needs to show that she can go beyond that, and this tour doesn’t accomplish that,” said King, who is urging Rudy Giuliani to enter the 2012 race.

Palin hasn’t made it particularly easy for fans to seek her out, interacting with supporters largely at impromptu events that haven’t been announced in advance. That means she’s not just blowing off officials, but also regular voters. While the media can’t quit Palin, there are many more GOP voters and activists who won’t try twice to meet a candidate.

I'll play along. What are Palins "well though out positions?"

A drunken bear could run Alaska. A state with 700,000 people who all receive cash from the Permanent Fund Dividend each year.

How long did Palin last as Governor?
