5 Reminders on draft day

1. If you drink, drink moderately during because you may be drinking heavily after round 1 is over.

2. Always watch the draft from a 1st story structure.

3. Never consume food while the pick is being announced. If you do, make sure someone is trained in the heimlich maneuver nearby.

4. If you have kids and tend to have a potty mouth, make sure you stop by after work and get some suitable ear plugs or muffs for the little one's.

5. Store away sharp shiny objects before the draft begins.

On a more serious note. Have a safe draft weekend everyone.

6. Turn in your belts and shoelaces to somebody that cares about you but isn't a Pats fan him/herself.

7. Tie down all objects that could become projectiles so they will not be thrown at your TV.

Don't go to the Patsfans.com draft day discussion thread and expect FreeTedWilliams not to go ballastic if the Pats do not draft someone who can rush the quarterback.

Fun stuff! As Schefter tweeted this morning, it feels like Christmas Day.

Greg Bedard at the Globe ended his chat yesterday with what I thought was good advice:

"All the best and remember this: whatever the Patriots do in the draft, you should be fine with it. The amount of information they have at their fingertips is unreal. And they have a pretty good track record."

8. If you own firearms, make sure that you or your loved ones remove all ammunition and place it under lock and key where you can not get at it while the draft unfolds.

9."OMG I can't believe he was still there" is reserved for the teen-age gameboys on New Jersey Jets* messageboards:rocker:

10a. Affix duct tape diagonally across all windows to reduce the affect of shattering.

10b. Properly secure your television with a mounting bracket or bolts. If you do attempt to throw it through the window, remember, lift from the knees.

11. Your fellow posters are eagerly awaiting one more person to post that Bowers was just picked. Seeing it from 12 sources only leads to uncertainty. Make sure you post it as well. They might miss the other posts.
