One amazing stat in this game

Flags thrown in the first quarter: 4 (2 NE, 2 SD)
Flags thrown in the last three quarters: ZERO

Well played on both sides, or refs swallowing whistles?

That's the way a playoff game should be.

I add my vote for extremely well played, since I can't think of a single controversial non-call. (Nonetheless, props to the refs for not inserting themselves where they weren't needed.)

Love games like this. Good jobs on the Refs I saw no blatant penalties.

That's what happens when the Colts aren't playing in the game.

Refs went inside with the red seats.

I said it before the game. I know we have history with Triplette, but he and his crew (well, 4 of 7 of them were from his crew) was ranked top 3 in the NFL this year for a reason. I said before the game we could do a whole lot worse.

They called one illegal hands early on against the Chargers, basically to say, "knock it out," they got the facemask right, Triplette was all over the running into the kicker and avoided calling it a personal foul, and they let the players sort it out. Every side line play was perfect -- and there were a few.

There was only one bad call in the game that I saw. Steed missed the fact that a San Diego receiver had stepped out of bounds before catching the ball, which should have been an illegal touching penalty. But, in his defense, he was straightlined by the goal post and it was a bang bang play where he DID get the out of bounds call right.

I hope the super bowl uses this ref staff.

Well you go to the SD board and there are some crying for bad reffing. I didnt' see anything that should have been called, it looked really good today.

Oh well, here's to moving on! Got my PTO request in for SB Sunday, but my wife is just about to pop with our first, so I may be off that day anyways lol.
