Weak, Whimpering Deval Accomplishes... Nothing

A Massachusetts institution is gradually leaving the state - and taking thousands of jobs with it - and our pathetic, weak, whimpering governor is completely powerless to do anything about it.

He did nothing but make a complete fool of himself with this meeting. I hope the next time he goes overseas, he decides to stay there. We'll all be much better off.

Patrick meets with Fidelity's Abigail Johnson over decision to move jobs

Gov. Deval Patrick met for 45 minutes today with Abigail Johnson, the billionaire president of one of Fidelity's divisions and the daughter of its chairman, to discuss the company's recent decision to move nearly 1,100 jobs out of Massachusetts.

Patrick said he considers Fidelity to be "a Massachusetts icon" and therefore feels some "wounded pride" over the company's decision to move multiple jobs to New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

Fidelity's decision to move the jobs out of state had rankled Patrick and other state officials. The governor said the company had not informed him of its decision early enough to allow him to argue that the jobs should remain in state. He had then sought the meeting with Fidelity.

He should call out the national guard and stop the moving vans at the boarder. The title should belongs in the 'Nothing' thread. ;)

No, what he should do is create an economic climate whereby companies that employ thousands of people and have been in the Commonwealth for over 50 years are not incentivized to virtually abandon it.

Why am I not surprised the point was entirely lost on you? Don't you ever, like, you know, kind of wonder why a company would just relocate so many jobs to neighboring states? Wait, let me guess: You think it Geroge Bush's fault.

Why is everything have to be about Bush or someone in your thread. The left hates Obama as well as Pelosi and Reid. You just think Katie Couric is some far-left person, when you never mention names like David Cobb and true leftists. Oh wait, we just know what we listen to from Hannity.

I am making fun of the left's propensity to blame everything on George Bush. If you don't see how often that takes place, then you truly are blind.

Oh by the way, I wasn't the one who brought up Bush in the other thread where I am discussing him. Please pay better attention next time. K thx bye.

I brought him up because I was showing Obama isn't the most idiotic president we've ever had.

Don't forget the right does the exact same thing to Obama.

I agree that Jimmy Carter gives Obama a run for his money in the "most idiotic" category, but I think Obama is pulling away.

Anyone see the latest census figures for Massachusetts? If you have, do you remember my threads a few years ago where I discussed how Taxachusetts was losing population, namely in the most critical age demographic? Well to those of you who have, this exodus shouldn't come as a surprise. Young people and whites are fleeing the state, and now so are middle-class salary paying businesses. It's ok though, illegals and deadbeats are flocking here to take their place.

Anyone who wants to leave here are free to. They'll be back because they are going to a crappier place, IMO, wherever it is, (unless it's Norway, Hawaii or California). I hope My kids go to MIT or Harvard and stay here to live near us and enjoy New England like we do, and for the Pats, Sox, Cape and Berkshires, hospitals and schools. Mass is a great place to live regardless of the color of the people who live here. I don't need "white" or young people surrounding me to feel good.

Money isn't everything. Here are the cheapest places to live in America:

McAllen, Texas
Seguin, Texas
Laredo, Texas
Jonesboro, Arkansas
Lubbock, Texas

Yeah, Baby!
