The Ethnic cleansing of the Christians in Egypt begins.

Egyptian Armed Forces Fire At Christian Monasteries, 19 Injured

For the second time in as many days, Egyptian armed force stormed the 5th century old St. Bishoy monastery in Wadi el-Natroun, 110 kilometers from Cairo. Live ammunition was fired, wounding two monks and six Coptic monastery workers. Several sources confirmed the army's use of RPG ammunition. Four people have been arrested including three monks and a Coptic lawyer who was at the monastery investigating yesterday's army attack.

The army also attacked the Monastery of St. Makarios of Alexandria in Wady el-Rayan, Fayoum, 100 km from Cairo. It stormed the monastery and fired live ammunition on the monks. Father Mina said that one monk was shot and more than ten have injuries caused by being beaten with batons. The army demolished the newly erected fence and one room from the actual monastery and confiscated building materials. The monastery had also built a fence to protect itself after January 25 and after being attacked by armed Arabs and robbers leading to the injury of six monks, including one monk in critical condition who is still hospitalized.

Wonder if the administration will decry the violence by the government against it's citizens. Probably not is my guess.

Does the administration always, or usually, condemn these kinds of actions?

As repugnant as they are, it seems like this happens throughout the world on a regular basis. I don't monitor the WH's statements but I'd be surprised if they comment on all of them. (Maybe they do, though.)

They did when the army threaten the MB demonstrators before Mubarick stepped down, remember? just a few weeks ago. They made some tepid statements about Ghaddafi attacking civilians.

I take it you don't know how regularly they do comment.

This makes me concerned as to which direction a post Mubarek Egypt is heading. I cant imagine this is a good indication of a future of peaceful democracy.

I want to see another source validate this story before i believe it. The home page seems to have quite a few christian persecution storys for me to take it at face value. Besides there is a lot going on right now with Lybia and domestic politics i wouldn't expect the administration in washington to comment on this situation if it really happened. I'm not sure these are American citizens.

The whole thing smells like one of 13's mis information stories.

So strange i googled this story and there was not a single story corroborating this one. Its the only source, yes so strange. :rolleyes:
